Drogba is much better in a 4-4-2.

Don't get me wrong, I think he's perhaps the best target man in the world in a 4-5-1, but in this system, it was more about Drogba setting up Lampard rather than Drogs scoring himself.

Since Jose switched to 4-4-2 (first Drogba-Crespo now Drogba-Shevchenko), Drogba's performances have been superb, and he's been scoring many more goals. By contrast, Lampard has scored fewer.

Well said but Jose would be very reluctant to play that formation wouldn't he? He'd either adopt a 4-2-2-2 or 4-1-3-2. I suppose he's still playing with a partner but he would best suit a strict 4-4-2.

I didn't realize goals in finals was the only way to judge a player.Ibra and Henry have more skill in their little toe than Drogba does in his whole albeit muscular body.

It doesn't matter whether Ibra or any of his devout followers feel he has more natural ability than Drogba. The fact remains that no player turns it on when it's needed quite as well as Didier.

That goal aside, Ibra did very little to justify being one of the players of the tournament. Certainly didn't carry his team at any stage (certainly while they were still in the tournament - I didn't watch their goal last night) in the way Gerrard did last night.

But flop of the tournament has to go to another man you were despertately hyping: Arjen Robben. Yet another disappointing performance from him on the very biggest stage. He'll put his performances in this tournament on his mantlepiece, somewhere alongside his 2 missed chances vs. Spain in the World Cup final, penalty miss (and refusing to take one in the shootout) of the CL final and penalty miss in the CL semi-final shoot out vs. Liverpool.

Good luck to this man. For all the play acting he may do, he was sensational during our 3 title winning seasons (very unfairly criticised for a lack of goals in 04-05 when the "experts" couldn't see the number of chances he was single-handedly setting on a plate for Lampard) and always delivered in the finals (the only one he didn't score in he still managed to hit the inside of the post). Hopefully Torres can finally start to reproduce his Liverpool form given that he is now the no.1 forward (and/or we can finally sign Hulk).
