For Bolton he is superb but you couldn't imagine Mourinho shelving out £24m for him

Interesting though that it looks as though two very good teams will be finishing second: Barca and Inter
Actually three if you count in Roma who are likely to finish second in their group behind Valencia. Also Madrid who will finish second still have a half decent team
I am actually dreading the round of 16 this season
Milan/Valencia/Lyon/Bayern Munich if we finish second
Barca/Inter/Roma/Madrid/PSV/Celtic/ if we finish first
There are so many decent teams nowadays, that it doesn't really matter if you finish 1st or 2nd imo (although if you finish 1st you get the home leg 2nd)
But I must say, even if we finish 2nd in our group, there is not a team out there I wouldn't fancy us beating over 2 legs.

Re: Drogba
This is the Drogba that i saw in france a couple of seasons a go.
If we improve and Ricky starts to give saviola is chance i'll feel pretty comfident of beating any team we draw, but we will be at a disadvantage of playing the 2nd leg away from home.

If I was being biased, I would of said Alan Smith.

Seriously though, Drogba is the hottest striker in the premiership at the moment.

Crouch has hardly played in the premiership thanks to fat Rafa's rotation policy.

Crouch is obviously being saved for the CL, I can see him being top scorer if Liverpool go far.

Very good assesment from teamspirit. Henry should be taking notes from him not vice versa.

Re: Drogba
It's not just his assist record & creativity - just look at his work-rate. In the last 15 mins after Sheva had been taken off - it was actually Robben playing as the highest point in attack -"The 1 Man Gang" Had become an extra midfielder by then. There was a Chelsea breakaway where he carried the ball 40 yards into the right Channel - and with hardly any backlift, he pings a perfect crossfield pass right onto Robbens instep.
Perfect
TalkSport can go fuck themselves, IMHO. It was only in April 2005 that they were blaming Drogba for the Semi-Final defeat to Liverpool, and that Giinger Chris-Evans-Wannabe-Cunt Adrian Durham was saying he'd rather have Geoff Horsefield and Peter Crouch. Cocksuckers!

Exactly you would never have seen Sheva doing that. He is producing his Marseille form now and I'm loving it. He is a fantastic striker and is definitely in with a chance of the golden boot.

Aparently Talksport are talking about the best strikers in the league and have named 5 or 6 and not even mentioned Saha.

Who's presenting?Parks Lives wrote:Aparently Talksport are talking about the best strikers in the league and have named 5 or 6 and not even mentioned Saha.
Because I only have time for Gabrielle Marcotti & Alvin Martin. If it's Kinghorn or Parry, don't bother - they chat so much shit I swear i can smell it coming out of the speakers.
And who have they named?

Adrian Durham.
I haven't got a clue who they talking about. I just heard this from a United forum, talking about the same subject.

Re: Drogba
Excellent analysis from TeamSpirit, and I don't want to dig up the past, (not much anyway ) but I remember saying to people who slagged Drogba off, that if he added goals to his game, he'd be the most complete striker in the world

Re: Drogba
The reason his price tag was so high is because he led Marseille to the final, almost on his own, therefore Marseille didn't want to leave him and asked this amount. I'm pleased that he is doing well because he's good lad, I mean in real life. It's true that he sometimes dives but he's honest and kind person, which we don't really see that often in football.

Re: Drogba
I honestly believe this is just a purple patch for Drogba. Call me a philistine if you like, but I don't think it'll last forever and I think he'll be back to his no scoring self by the end of the season.
