it does not get any better than this Exclamation Exclamation Exclamation

Werder destroyed Bochum 6:0 last Saturday

Bayern chase them hard in the Bundesliga and have won their last games as well

Bremen have the best striker in the world, the MONSTER; one of the best DMCs, FRINGS, the next Ballack (Borowski) and the most promising central defender in the world

    MERTESACKER

Bayern have the best left wing in world club football

the PRINZ, SCHWEINI (aka the ROCKET-LAUNCHER) and Lahm, aka THE KID

Bremen have a very clever manager : Schaaf

Bayern have a MORON: Magath, aka THE MORON

this match could very well decide who will win the Bundesliga title

the world will be watching and breathing a sigh of relief that football does not have to be an EPL snooze-fest

90 minutes of non-stop football highlights await

go to the toilet during the game and you'll kick yourself afterwards

advertisments don't come much better than this <Ale> Bubbly

I think Liverpool V Man Utd and Real Madrid V Barca are better otto.

Footballingwise this may be good though as Liverp0-0l play anti-football.

Real Madrid i think will score early then keep it tight ok

    Forza Bremen Though Ale

    Hope Diego has another stormer

Tho Feyenoord-ajax is THE game of this weekend, this ain't a bad advertisment as well. But it kinda depends on the Bayern playstyle, the 4-3-3 system against Hertha was amazing to watch.

But with a gutless coach like Magath I feel he is going for a defensive line-up against Werder Rolling Eyes .

That means not 90 minutes of football-highlights, but Werder trying to find an opening in that defense while Bayern trying to snatch a goal with a counter-attack. <Ale>

    @tweed

what makes Bremen vs Bayern so special is that one of these giants will almost certainly win the title, and this could be the clincher

Liverpool are unlikely to challenge Chelsea or ManU for top honours

    +

Bremen play the most uncompromising attacking football in Europe, alongside Barca, and occasionally Arsenal

    +

we now experience a see-change in German football in that Bremen actually stop viewing themselves as outsiders (forget what blut is trying to tell us here); Frings/Allofs etc are, for the first time, tooting their horn and positioning themselves as favourites, which is unheard of

    +

this is THE show-case of German football: the MONSTER, the PRINZ, the (little) ONE, the MONKEY, the KID, the ROCKET-LAUNCHER + Merte and Frings are all on display

    WOW

    -----------------

Barca vs Real is always big as well , of course

but I fear Bremen vs Bayern features more super/ueber-stars of the future

you heard it here first Biggrin

Don't tell obispo that you think Liverpool won't challenge for the title - he'l bite your head off Wink

They're billing this as the decider in that if they lost they'll be officially out of the title race. Not bad to say its only mid october Whistle

I agree though the Bayern-Bremen game should be a cracker, I'm a big fan of some of the Bremen players, its just a pity that Hargreaves won't be fit, i'm guessing Ottyl will fill the void?

Will the PRINZ start do you think? He still doesn't seem to have wriggled his way into Magaths plans.....

its impressive, so they've made him a straight swap for Micoud then and EVERYTHING goes through him?

Its the 'Riquelme' syndrome - you man mark the playmaker and the teams cogs start to creak.

Its what we did verses Villarreal at home Very Happy

otto, I actually believe that we have a good chance to beat Bayern at home tomorrow, despite their great form. Hopefully, it will be a classic match. Werder vs. Bayern were always great matches, and Werder is one of the very few teams that repeatedly managed to beat Bayern in important matches.

We want to become and establish ourselves as a European top club, and for that to happen, we need consistent success. It's only natural for our staff to be optimistic, we beat Bayern in the League Cup just a few months ago.

P.S.: Tomorrow, 7 players of the starting XI of the Mannschaft will be on the pitch.

I suppose the PRINZ will start, although you never know with the MORON

Poldi , of course, was on the Werder shopping list this summer

the MONSTER is being courted by Bayern right now

never will we see more WMDs assembled over 90 minutes than on Saturday

you are quite right to add Ottl to that list

Wiese, Fritz will be there as well + possibly Hunt

if some football Osama, or Tony Bliar for that matter, dropped a bomb on Saturday German football would be set back a whole generation

Diego: a special case; very talented and exciting young Brazilian; his solo-effort last weekend was a peach; his stats are awesome as well; his acclimatisation to Bundesliga football has been seamless

there is a problem though: he is considerably less direct than Micoud, too much in love with the ball; this will change with time, but Klose, Frings, Borowski as well as even Baumann have criticised this quite publicly

Allofs himself says that Diego has to become more direct and play more one-twos

so far Klose is the victim of this , but as I said, it's early days and Diego will become more German with time sunny

Thanks, that's what I hope as well. Ale

The team I want to see is most probably the team Thomas Schaaf, our coach, will play:

    Code:

    -------------Wiese---------------
    Fritz--Mertesacker--Naldo--Schulz
    ------------Baumann--------------
    Frings-------------------Borowski
    -------------Diego---------------
    -------Klose----------Hunt-------

That's our best lineup this year at least.

He is different to Micoud, his style is different. He dribbles more, but his passing is excellent as well, and he is not selfish either (7 assists). But the team is not build around him, and not everything goes through him, that's not our style. Frings and Borowski, but others as well, do a lot of creative work, too.

Diego is not like Riquelme, definitely not.

Even Magath will by now have realised that Polishdolski is a parasite : he only performs if he can leech of a better striking partner. Klose in the national team, Makaay for Bayern.

It's obvious from now on Makaay and Poodolski should start every match for Bayern : Roy is on his best if he can build up a "relation" with the other striker and Lukas is electric if a lightning rod is at hand....

    Seems simple to me....

    Err....?

Of course he plays better with a good partner striker, any player does. Still, this doesn't mean that he is "rubbish" without them, otherwise he couldn't have almost single handedly brought Cologne to the Bundesliga, being just a teen!

He just turned 21, he is scoring goals for fun, what the hell do you expect him to do?

the MONSTER is trying to become an internationally recognised football mega-star

BY NOT SCORING FOR THE NEXT 200 DAYS

    (just like Adriano) Cool

    @ pele

our U-21 boys taught your lads a good lesson in Leverkusen, completely outplaying them, despite missing their HEARTBEAT , Trochowski, and their sharpshooter, Helmes

the result was neither here nor there

If we played our REAL U-21, it would look something like this:

    ------------

    the PRINZ, Helmes

    the ROCKET-LAUNCHER, Trochowski , Ottl, SPEEDY-Odonkor

    Jansen, Mertesacker, Huth, the KID

    Rensing

    --------------

now, Pele, remind me how many of them were playing against your U-21 boys lol!

    --------------

    as for Bremen vs Bayern

excellent result for German football, even if no Germans scored

those self-conscious Werder-fans/players/management are finally beginning to understand that they are the German top dogs: Frings, Allofs and Co , for the first time, are making the right sounds

this was a 6 point game and quite possibly the clincher !!!!

it's early days, of course, but every season has its turning-points and this was one

Bayern are now chasing Bremen who are no longer afraid

Bremen have managed to do what Gordon Brown has not: to become top-dog you have to slay your big brother

the psychological blow to Bayern could turn out to be lethal

even better: Bayern will have to SACK the MORON soon lol!

    +

Hoeness has promised he would not talk publicly before Bayern were on top of the Bundesliga again:

ie, the arrogant nutter will have to keep his filthy mouth shut for quite a few years Whistle lol!

European Game of the Weekend: Werder vs "die Lederhose Empty Re: European Game of the Weekend: Werder vs "die Lederhose

The difference is 3 points, Otto. That's one lousy match difference. (For example the Bayern v Werder match in the Allianz Arena.)

Please stop calling it a clincher.

I admit that Bremen look good and that they could be considered slight favorites for the title this year. Fine by me. Let them be favorites for once. We'll see how they can deal with the pressure.

I hope the race will stay close to the end. Then we'll see what this bremen team is made of. And whether they can really become a Top 8 team in Europe.
