Re: Show your support for Man Utd
what I mean is, clearly somewhere down the line a manc was a dick to a scouse (or vice versa) and it worked as a domino effect. The majority of mancs on this board acted like wankers to me the moment I arived. I'd never had an unpleasant argument with a United fan before I posted here

I blame Poiuy personally. He started the whole 'bias against other clubs' bollocks with his ridiculous "Tyldsley (99,99,99,99) is a Liverpool fan", "all the press are liverpool fans" etc...

the race will be more even if Chelsea win. Or are you sure that Chelsea will be more consistent than Man U over the rest of the season?
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that as we enter December and January, Man. Utd. will be the ones dropping more points due to their weaker overall squad. Plus let's not forget they've played Liverpool, Arsenal, and (on Sunday) Chelsea, but all these have been at Old Trafford. So the 2nd half of the season will have tougher games for them.
Inujuries or loss of form to scholes and giggs is all what it takes to see them start dropping points and that is not even highly unlikely to happen as both players are 30+.

Want united to win. Six points in front would make the fight for the premiership that much more interesting. Chelsea are a little weaker up front over last year imo, and need Shevchenko scoring again to push for the title.

In 1882 Daniel Adamson, an eminent Manchester engineer, organised a campaign for the construction of a canal to allow sea-going traffic to travel inland as far as the city. In 1885 Parliament approved the Ship Canal Act despite strong opposition from Liverpool Docks and from the railway companies. It was these bodies that had given the impetus for the canal through the tariffs they'd imposed on Manchester products, e.g. it cost 19s 3d to send a ton of cotton from Manchester to Calcutta in 1856 of which 12s 6d was incurred getting it to Liverpool and through the port. Indeed the origin of the rivalry between the cities, and thus Manchester United and Liverpool football clubs, lies in the import and export of cotton more than a century ago.

Re: Show your support for Man Utd
Back page of the independent yesterday showed the 8 areas in the UK with the lowest male life expectancy.
7 of them were in Scotland.
The 8th was Manchester.
So is it the fatty food, the drugs, or the random street violence that contributes most to making the hellhole of the North-West what it is?

Scotland do love their mars bars covered in batter.
Manchester bemuses me though, I'd have though somewhere like Hull would be worse - maybe its a consequnece of the manc fans binge eating to console themselves after the FA cup defeat in 2005

Re: Show your support for Man Utd
Certainly the Liverpool fans started all this. All claiming how they would win the league, United would struggle for fourth, calling United fans bias for saying we could finish second and for claiming we would still find goals from our side.
Now we're top of the league and they can't score in a month of Sundays away from home, we're arrogant.
Bar one or two all Twats.

No, you're arrogant because of comments like yesterday's 'I'd rather come last in the group that be in the UEFA Cup, we're not Liverpool ffs, we should boycott it.'
To suggest that you are too good for a competition despite results could not be considered anything but arrogance.
And, for the record, as I've stated elsewhere, I reckon you'll qualify for the knockout stages of the CL.

No one minds you celebrating (I believe Fergie has an open top bus tour planned for tomorrow), and I for one welcome friendly banter. What I and many others take issue with is the spite and hatred that oozes from your every pore

Yep, the UEFA comment was a dig. Can't see how its arrogant to want to pull out though, especially (as I pointed out in the UEFA thread) as it will hugely affect our league chances. Its nothing with being too good for it.

Really? To suggest fielding a youth team as in the League Cup so that it didn't affect your league chances I could understand. But to pull out or boycott it would be breaching the UEFA rules, thus suggesting that its OK to behave in a way that other teams should not. And that's arrogant.
