Top 4 teams in europe!
Tick the teams that you think are in the top 4 in europe this season... pick your strongest 4 teams, without bias as much as possible.

Re: Top 4 teams in europe!
I went for:
Chelsea
Barcelona
Lyon
Inter
And I'd probably say Man Utd/Milan/Real Madrid/Valencia are just behind those 4 imo.

Lyon are a joke. I'd sooner have Bayern in there.

I know what you mean re Lyon... I would put Real, ManU, and Roma above them, inspite of Lyon's awesome performance in the CL so far.

I think most would agree with Chelsea and Barcelona being 1st and 2nd, after that its really hard to seperate.

Re: Top 4 teams in europe!
Chelsea's the strongest team at the moment.
I don't Manchester United should be anywhere near the top teams though. It's true that they're doing very well in the Premiership, but the fact that they lost against FC Copenhagen and Celtic alone should be enough to take them out of contention. They also didn't manage to beat their two biggest rivals in the Premiership (Arsenal, Chelsea) at home.

sorry but i just fail to see how lyon can be included above teams like inter, liverpool and arsenal. maybe they are a better team but one of these days they really have to prove it instead of simply choking in the CL every yearAlive and Kicking wrote:Chelsea Barcelona Man U Lyon

They beat Madrid in the group stages though
I'm sick of the Lyon hype. Hopefully this will be the last year of it. They'll be "those french underacheivers" next season, after they crash out before the semi's again this year.
Inter are the best team in Europe at the moment.

Liverpool?
Did you watch the Copenhagen and Celtic games either?
As for being in the top 4 I'm not sure. As I said Chelsea and Barcelona are the top 2, after that there is a big group of teams behind them.

Inter are up there with Barca and Chelsea Pip.
Anyways, historically, United's greatest rivalries have been with United and City and they've now beaten us both at Old Trafford...

Re: Top 4 teams in europe!
You mean Liverpool and City? Arsenal aren't far behind in recent times. Chelsea are our biggest title rivals.
As for Inter, I obviously need to watch them more as last year I was never overly impressed and against Bayern both sides looked poor.

Liverpool are not really title challengers though and they haven't been for over a decade. And no, I didn't see those 2 games, I only watched the summaries. Whether ManU dominated or not, losing against both of those teams is a real embarrassment.
But I didn't say ManU were not one of the best teams at the moment. I just find it ridiculous that there are more than 7 people who would actually put ManU first over the likes of Chelsea and Inter.

Re: Top 4 teams in europe!
Too many people dismiss Inter because of their reputation I reckon.
They've played Milan, Palermo and Roma away from home this year and won all 3 games. They're top of Serie A, they've won 6 on the bounce domestically I think and they're through the second round of the champions league.

Theres no real depth to their squad, they're on a roll no doubt but they will collapse after the X Mas period having to play 4/5 games in week or so.
And Chelsea will win their 3rd straight title:bom:

What about if they included all 3
Against Copenhagen we made loads of changes and paid for it. Against Celtic we took it far to casual and despite dominating we fucked up.
The only massively disapointing game was Arsenal and even then we missed Van Der Sar, Vidic, Heinze, Carrick & Giggs.
Fair enough though, I'd put us anywhere between 3rd and 8th to be honest. To close to call.

Yeah, we've been hearing that all season. Where will our goals come from, the midfield is to weak, our old players will get tired, our squad is far to weak.
Still top of the league and with the most goals.
Add to that we have Larsson coming, Park and Ole returing and another buy or two to come.
I'm not saying we will win the title but all those comments are foolish.

Is it me or was Batman & co talking about signings needed to improve the squad etc etc.
You have to admit your squad apart from the starting 11 isnt very good -- quality wise, not saying ours is.
Theres nothing wrong with me saying you will struggle through the X mas period with a wafer thin squad.

Re: Top 4 teams in europe!
Of course we need at least another signing in January, probably another central midfielder for if Carrick or Scholes are injured.
However Park and Ole are back now, so we have at least attacking substitutes and Fletcher has been very good this year when called upon.
I think if we can get through December we'll be fine. 8 days break now, we'll be perfect as well.

Personally i believe X mas will make or break your season, Chelsea have the depth, buf if you continue winning it wont mean ....
