we're on a bad run now, got horrible fixtures over xmas. desperately need to get to jan and sign some players who can score goals

How was it a soft penalty? Petrov took away Anelka's leg as he was about to shoot. Definite penalty.

And yes we were poor. But at least we won.

And Obispo, there's one french player in the entire Bolton squad.
probably used the wrong phrase, i didn't mean it wasn't a penalty, it was. it was more that it wasn't a particlarly dangerous situation because there was so many players between him and the goal, and i think the first defended would've blocked any shot - so it was a very soft penalty to concede.

    jaaskelainen was excellent, unfortunately

Yeah, Jussi was excellent, especially when he tipped over that Cahill shot.
It's a shame you didn't play more to Agbonlahor because he raped Pedersen every time he got the ball.

Yes they are. They're playing shit, cynical, cheating football. You're thinking of Liverpool's next champions league opponents.

    Fuck.

We need Arsenal to get one back though I think, that way we'll stay 3rd on goal difference.

It was another great goal from Taylor today. A good dipping shot from the edge of the box, and he had a decent overall game as well. I wouldn't be surprised if people start calling for him to be brought into the England squad whenever the next friendly is played if he keeps this form up.

Looks like Essien will be making his 18th complete game today. He has played every minute of every competition this season.

    Predicted line-up:

    ----------------Hilario---------------
    Geremi--Carvalho--Terry--A Cole
    --------------Makelele--------------
    -----Essien------------Lampard----
    ---------------Ballack---------------
    -------Shevchenko--Drogba-------

    TEAM NEWS: Chelsea

John Terry has suffered a recurrence of the back problem which gave him some trouble earlier in the season, so he's out. With Hilario in goal and no JT to protect him, I do fear we may concede 1 or 2 today now.

    Line up:

    40 Hilario
    14 Geremi
    9 Khalid Boulahrouz
    6 Ricardo Carvalho
    3 Ashley Cole
    4 Claude Makelele
    5 Michael Essien
    8 Frank Lampard (c)
    13 Michael Ballack
    16 Arjen Robben
    11 Didier Drogba

Subs: 22 Magnus Hedman, 20 Paulo Ferreira, 18 Wayne Bridge, 7 Andriy Shevchenko, 21 Salomon Kalou.

    ------------------Hilario----------------
    Geremi--Carvalho--Boulahrouz--A Cole
    -----------------Makelele--------------
    --------Essien------------Lampard------
    ------------------Ballack---------------
    ---------------------------Robben------
    -----------------Drogba---------------

It basically puts a lump in my throat...You can still see what he thinks of the club..has nothing but affection for us and wants us to do well...

and to say hopefully in the future he can come back shows what he thinks, he must be seriously hurt at the decision.

In my eyes hes a West Ham legend!

Yep, Lampard has been non existent so far and Ballack has shown no quality at all.
