So far they have Jussi in goal, Chimbonda at right back and Baines at left back.

Gallas should be one of the centre backs. For his Chelsea performances last season and his brilliant World Cup.

Team so far
-------------- Jussi
Chimbonda -- Rio -- Terry -- L Baines
Ronaldo -- Gerrard -- Cesc -- Giggs
Only one Chelsea player and no Neville, Toure or Essien.
Guess the strikers will be Drogba and Henry.

Strikers, this is going to be fun
Unless they consider Drogba as certain this is going to be farcical.

Merson is going mad as some of them are trying to get Rooney in.

see Rooney should be there if its done over "the calendar year"
I cant see what Henry has done this season??, and Drogba wasnt exactly brilliant from Jan-May either..

Rooney got injured for six whole weeks and had a poor World Cup, this is what has ulimately cost him.
Henry is there because he finished leading goalscorer last year, injured for a large part this term. And Drogba is there for his spell of form last year and his brilliant form thus far.

They all said it was because he went through two periods without a goal for a lot of games.
I agree with you about Drogba and Henry.

I think there's only two players that would get in probably every person's team - Ronaldo and Terry.

Yup those two.
And possibly Chimbonda who was one of the finds from last season.

Gerrard - what did he do, except finish third, score a very good goal in the FA cup final, have a shit World Cup and a shit start to this season? That's about 4 months of poor performances...
This is fucking ridiculous...

I wouldn't pick Terry. I'd take Toure, Vidic, Campbell, Agger, Ferdinand and Gallas over Terry, both on talent and on form shown.
Absolutely shit team, if you ask me. Not a single position I agree with...

They then went on for ten minutes on whether to play him on the right or in the centre as that would affect what wingers they picked, as Gerrard had to be picked.

Its for the whole calendar year, so that would rule out Agger and Vidic for me. Why they didn't consider Scholes either.
Toure and Gallas have a case though.

Why? Even Liverpool fans aren't very happy with him, and Gerrard's supposedly their greatest ever player.
Mediocre for Liverpool for long periods, crap for England ever since he's been forced to mop up after Lampard in central midfield, whinges when he has to play on the right despite it giving him more time and space...

Had that eye injury for most of last year though, so it would be unfair on the others that have played a full term.

If Gerrard was picked on the right they would of had Ronaldo on the left, then Lampard was the midfielder that would of been picked in central midfield.
