Post by bluenine Wed Jan 17, 2007 11:52 am

In a surprising move, Milan have bought Storari, one of the most impressive GKs in Serie A this season. Interesting, now will Storari start when Dida is fit?? I doubt it.

Also, rumours suggest that Ronaldo to Milan is a done deal.

    Milan are looking good.

What are you saying!! Vieri is a model professional in many respects.

At Inter, we cannot grudge him at all... Inter paid money to Vieri to buy out his contract (when Moratti assumed that Adriano+Martins will work). After that, we cannot grudge him for joining Milan, he just took the best offer he got as a free agent.

And you of all people should really respect Bobo. He had already signed a big contract with Sampdoria when the extent of his true injury became known.... he allowed Sampdoria cancel the contract for free!! Thats honourable, something that fat bucktooth cannot even imagine!

And then joined Atalanta on minimum wages, with big money attached to each goal he scores.... how many old strikers with a grave injury have the balls (and honour) to sign such a contract??

Yes, Ronaldo played in 4 of the group stage matches. He came on as a substitute 3 times and then started the final match against Dinamo Kiev. So he is cup-tied; which makes me feel a little bit better if we do sell him, at least he can't come back to haunt us in the CL this year.

I think the problem will be the transfer fee. Milan don't want to pay anything and Real madrid are not going to let him leave for free. Galliani is negotiating the transfer, so we'll see how it ends up.

It is a dream come true for Marco Storari after the goalkeeper signs for Milan and prepares for his first training session at Milanello

The last time Marco Storari ran into Milan he spent a busy afternoon keeping the Rossoneri at bay and only a Paolo Maldini goal beat the goalkeeper on that occasion. For the rest, Storari spent the game in a personal duel with Ricky Kakà who he kept off the scoreheet with a series of excellent saves.

From today, Storari will be a team-mate of Maldini and Kakà after joining the club and making his way to Milanello for his first training session.

Storari, who was born in Pisa on January 7, 1977, stands at 1.87cm and weighs 76kg. He started his career at Perugia, where a certain Rino Gattuso was a team-mate, before moving to Montevarchi for the 1997-98 season and then to Ancono where he won promotion to Serie B in 1999-2000. The experience there continued positively until an injury at the end of the 2001-02 season and after a spell at Napoli he finally made his Serie A debut on September 12, 2004 for Messina in a goalless draw at Parma. Since then we has played 81 games in the top flight.

    -----------------------------------------------------------

This was on milan's site. Cool, he would be much better as s econd chioce GK rather than Kalac! Dida has been given the go ahead to play against lazio which is cool. Now all we need is Amelia or Buffon and we are all set!

This is what is also on milan's site!

    ADRIANO GALLIANI ON RONALDO

MILAN - Arriving at the Football League this morning, Adriano Galliani had this to say about Ronaldo: 'The Ronaldo hypothesis exists. Now we are waiting to see what Real Madrid have to say. The hypothesis is for a permanent transfer and a contract for a year and half at a figure inferior to what I have read in the newspapers today. The contract is the same one in length that he has with Real. The offer is to free up his contract with a permanent deal.

This move looks more and more likely! Well if he comes he comes if not....

Purely based on this season, Storari >> Dida!!!

I think he will open up the race for Milan No 1, for teh first time since Abbiatti left...

For some reason, I was convinced that Milan would go for Amelia, who also would ve been a good long term investment... this one caught me by surprise...

Quagliarella has been fantastic yeah..and we have 3 good strikers to go with him..even our defence has started to play well...I just think we lack a little bit of quality on the wings...other than that Im pleased with the squad and I hope for a UEFA Cup return ok

    welcome back Bobo Vieri.

Indeed, the Ronaldo move depends on the transfer fee they can agree. Personal terms are agreed already.

I expect Milan to have to pay a fee of around 6M€. (that's pure guess work though)

Ronaldo's joining Milan does not really make a difference. Milan looks reasonably well off in the front. their immediate problem is their defence

I see quite a few nasty comments on ronaldo here, which I don't quite understand. He was the best player at Inter, and he always tried harder than vieri (who will play for whoever pays him the most) and of course he was injured for a long time whihc is not really his fault. I remember seeing ronaldo tracking back into his own half and tackling people, while Vieri was goal-hanging. After he was over his big injury Ronaldo kept getting injured every few weeks, and even the physios said it was hector cuper's training regime. Hector Cuper refused to allow Ronaldo to do different kinds of training, saying that he just wanted special treatment. When he went to the world cup Ronaldo was promised that Cuper would be gone when he came back. He wasn't, so ronaldo decided to leave, and Cuper was gone a couple of months later. A lot of the fault lies with the Inter management as far as I can see. I remember talkig to my Inter friends at the time, and I said we'd see if Ronaldo keeps getting injured like he was an Inter, but for the first season at Madrid he stayed relatively injury free, which shows he was right to leave, or his career might already have been over.

There was also rumours of seedorf banging his then wife, so seedorf was got rid off to Milan.

i think Ronaldo signing could be a good thing for milan. Ronaldo hasent really seemed as if his heart has ever been in it at Madrid. I have a strange feeling he will find freat form at Milan.
