luis what we are looking for is a mobile, strong and quick player to replace crouch for the majority of games.... not a martins or defoe type... kuyt has most of the attributes i think rafa is looking for... not sure how good a finisher he is but his goal record suggests he will be just fine and lets face it anyone will be far superior to crouch in putting the chances away... BTW it's not all about goals... he will give his all for the team and run down everything... bellamy and kuyt as the main strikerforce with crouch as an impact sub and fowler for the lesser premiership games would be great for me...luisgarciahedrinkssangria wrote:right well i think he'll be exactly the same as crouch, a decent player, not good enough to cause any real problems to the likes of United, Arsenal, Bolton especially away from home.
and a Kuyt Crouch partnership would never work

That makes no sense, we got a european place for christ sake! And personally i found the run we went on in the last 15 games pretty inspiring.
But no run for CL football and no run to avoid relegation = midtable and grey...
That's bollocks and you know it!

Re: Kuyt wants newcastle
Except Kuijt can play through the centre without coming deep, which Crouch couldn't and Morientes always started deep.
Kuijt isn't lightning quick by any means, but he's nowhere near as slow as you're making out. He could play off the shoulder with Crouch if it was really necessary. It's not the ideal partnership, but it could work to a degree. It would probably be the least productive of all partnerships available to the club though.

if Kuyt doesnt get a move to UCL team he might as well stay at Feyenoord cos moving to Newcastle wont be a Sporting choice it will be based on Financial Choice

Ye, one of the more serious newspapers. But its a paper located in Rotterdam, so they have to make news about Feyenoord everyday. http://www.ad.nl/sport/article542690.ece

Same here. I want us to sign him (or Trezeguet), but the transfer saga is getting a bit drawn out now. I can only hope that we intend on using the money from the champions league (if we qualify) to sign him.

Next week Liverpool are going to sign 1-2 players, and I honestly don't care if it isn't Kuyt. It's not like he's our only option. I'm rooting for Saviola still (and have been for ages) but IMO it will never happen.

Well 31 August is the deadline, so we will find out soon. He calls Liverpool his dreamclub so if you qualify that would make it all a lot easier. If he stays we get this all again next year.

How many players do Liverpool need? They seem to big one of the biggest squad in the League. Maybe they need to sell before they start looking to buy?

What is the situation with Savialo? is he staying @ Barca for another season or are there clubs seriously looking to purchase him. I think a move to the prem would be great for him.

yeah, and rotate them. They both have very different styles IMO, Saviola's a lot more creative. Gives us another dimension, but not the dimension rafa seems to be looking for, so it won't happenSir Parks Lives wrote:Crouching Tiger wrote:I wouldn't mind both...not as a partenership thoSir Parks Lives wrote:Saviola and Bellamy!!?!?!?!

Then who would be the partner whilst they are rotated?
Fowler? Crouch? One of the attacking midfielders?

Still, I can not see how Liverpool are going to manage to field all their players unless there have a hugh injury crisis.

actually, I dont see any reason why

wouldn't work...we'd just have to change our style a bit.
He would probably play off crouch tho.
