That is a lot of money to re-invest back in the side, I for one hope that Wenger would use a good chunk of it and put it towards new playing staff that will make an immediate impact. We always sign youth one way or another and this term we have signed Nacer Barazite, Vincent van der Berg and Fran Merida. Okay I accept that Wenger is good with talented youths but we really need some experience in the squad.

It was just a one-off friendly though. I think he'll stick with the tried and truest to be honest.

Re: Zagreb V Arsenal Thread
v good performance tweeds, just commented on players needed on Season thread and then i think people could be underestimating how well this team could do. same old positions CB, LB for Cashley and DM.
disappointed with zagreb were a bit negative, and they looked dangerous when they did go forward
you can see the benefit of pace at the back both toure and djorrou having made mistakes either bailed themselves out or each other out on a few occasions

Re: Zagreb V Arsenal Thread
Will Walcott get to start this game, given the lead you have and that your at home?
Be good to watch him over 90 minutes.

Agreed. He looked great when he came on on saturday. But it's possible that alot of that was down to the fact that Villa had run themselves into the ground and walcott is lightning. Over 90 minutes he may find it more difficult, but Zagreb didn't look the greatest opposition, so who knows.

Re: Zagreb V Arsenal Thread
I hope he starts, we are 3-0 up, reyes , rosicky and freddie are all not 100% fit , so why risk them in a match we are not gonna lose?
I don't think he was great on saturday because villa were tired; they hardly covered any ground the whole match, they were basically just sitting back, mainly around their box and breaking up our play. until walcott came on, we could not really penetrate them except some few runs from eboue and freddie. Pace aside, he never lost the ball and his decision making was superb ie knowing when to play it short or dribble(something someone like ribery lacks), provided us alot of width by staying on the wing and not following the ball in the middle of the park as most of our players did thereby making it difficult for us to play through the middle, i also remember him getting himself twice out of some tight situations - all this was not down to villa tiring.
