Milan are slowly rediscovering themselves at the mo, not a good time for Arsenal to face them. This tie is becoming very intriguing.

    50-50 IMO.

I watched both these games and Milan may have won, but they were very unconvincing in both games. The defence looks shaky, the midfield looks unbalanced and Kaka looks uninspired. Pato is thier saving grace right now. They need tp pray he's not out for their tie.

Alexandre Pato suffered an injury to his left ankle in AC Milan's 1-0 win against Fiorentina. I guess we will find out the long he will be expected to be on the sidelines over the next day or so. Gattuso is also a doubt for the game at the Emirates stadium.

Pato faces Arsenal absence Monday 4 February, 2008

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Milan starlet Alexandre Pato could lose the race against time to recover from injury before the Diavolo's Champions League clash against Arsenal.

The Brazilian striker has been a revelation since arriving at San Siro from Internacional at the start of January.

Four goals in six games have made Pato the talk of the peninsula, but he was stretchered off with an ankle injury minutes after he scored the winning goal against Fiorentina last weekend.

Latest reports suggest that Pato could be out of action for around three weeks and will miss out on Milan's trip to London to face Arsenal on February 20.

The Rossoneri medical staff are still conducting tests, but the 18-year-old is now almost certain to miss the Serie A games against Siena, Livorno and Parma.

Pato’s injury is particularly badly timed for Carlo Ancelotti as his side face three fixtures in seven days and there are doubts over Kaka’s fitness after a series of recent niggles.

    cheers

Obviously Kaka and a few others are far more important to Milan being successful, but Pato had given Milan a fresh wave of excitement.

Hopefully this dents their morale a bit

Milan hoping Pato will recover for Arsenal clash

MILAN, Feb 5 (Reuters) - AC Milan hope Brazilian striker Alexandre Pato can recover from an ankle injury in time for the Champions League match at Arsenal later this month, vice-president Adriano Galliani said on Tuesday.

The 18-year-old, who has netted four goals since his arrival at the start of January, hurt his ankle after coming on as a substitute and scoring in Sunday's 1-0 win at Fiorentina.

The European champions visit the English Premier League leaders in a last 16 first-leg clash on Feb. 20.

'I have heard from the doctors. The hope is that we will have him for London,' Galliani told Italian media.

Milan have suffered a minor injury crisis with Gennaro Gattuso, Kaka, Ronaldo, Clarence Seedorf and Filippo Inzaghi carrying knocks.

However, they are all expected to be fit for the Arsenal tie with Gattuso's thigh injury not as bad as first thought.

'He has a muscle problem. We need to speak to the doctors but we hope to have him available next week,' Galliani added.

Gattuso and Pato look set to come back. Rumours are that Pato will actually be ready for Parma, but he will sit out the game due to precaution.

I think the rest will do him good. His injury is not as bad as first feared. The swelling is already starting to come down.
