    It's impossible anyway, premiership clubs would never agree to it. And if the FA just changed the rules for a season to get rid of a couple of more teams, the teams that went down would take legal action, and they would probably win. The only option is for them to start in league 2 or the conference, and they wouldn't want that. <Ale>

    If Celtic & Ranger were to come to the EPL, league football in scotland would die. It would become like the league of Wales or Ireland.

    Hibs & Hearts = TNS, Glentoran, Linfield etc.

    Way too many clubs for that.

    We've got more professional clubs than anyone. You'd have to get some teams to merge for that - and with rivalries, that's never going to happen.

    I don't think everton fans would mind. They'd get the chance to support a big club for a change.

    I would agree...make the divisions to 16....and have 3/4 of them
    so that TNS,Hearts,Linfield,Shelbourne,Hibernian,Aberdeen and Rhyl are in the Premier etc...

    Airdieonians and Clydebank hated each other....they merged to Airdrie United when they were both going bankrupt...

    it would be better for a lot of teams though...they'd have a bigger support etc, obvously it would only work for poor standard leagues like SD1,2,3,Eircom and Welsh league...
