Frings has publicly attacked the lack of grit in the current Werder team

Diego and Co were not amused

    http://www.fr-online.de/in_und_ausland/sport/aktuell/?sid=80a459c665e7fc5b190b8f26d40d4c38&em_cnt=1080044

how will Ajax approach this game ?

presumably they have to play with 7 or 8 attacking players ?!

They will go ultra attacking, Huntelaar will play, Perez and Sneijder will both play.

Werder will win 4-0 on the counter.

Die Hütte brennt, like we say in Germany. Everybody is pissed off about the latest results in the league, and Frings, our captain, seems to be more pissed off than anyone else, and rightfully so. We most probably have lost the championship in the last three league matches.

While a 3-0 win in the first match looks like a comfortable result, anything can happen in football. Especially with this completely out of form Werder side. On the other hand, it should help us that Ajax will have to win the game. I expect us to concentrate on the defence (badly needed), and try to hit them on the counter, something we can do equally well normally.

But what is 'normal' with Werder these days...

I honestly think Werder should try to play their normal game and not be forced into defence. The only way Ajax stand a chance is if Werder is gonna play with loads of bodies behind the ball.

Ajax can't defend it their lives depended on it and their strength lies in attack...

I agree with my friend Axe. Werder´s attack is not very quick so a counter attack will only damage Bremen! Heitinga, for instance, is not a good defender if you put him under pressure he will makes mistakes. If he can go forward he is quick enough to be back to defend a not so quick Klose! He is used to play like that

I think you'll find Klose is faster than you think.

The thing is you've got to pressure Ajax on their weak spot : defence.

If Heitinga gets the freedom to roam and join the attack he is actually very dangerous.

...of course Ajax is wide open for a counter, but at 3-0 down it's a suicide mission anyway.

If they do get a goal in the first 15 minutes, have an all out attacking team on the pitch while Werder has a defensive team....it might get very interesting.

    Yeah, wishful thinking....I know Wink

The further away from the goal the less dangerous he is. Heitinga and Stam can deal with Klose's speed!

Bremen have won this already .. Ajax will lose this game, the coach and defence are not good ..

Ten Cate is to blame, resting Huntelaar, Leonardo and Perez in Bremen and giving debuts to nobodies .. what a fool.

3:0 down, whats does he expect, a miracle .. the odds of Ajax even scoring twice is the same as being hit by a asteroid .. Bremen look good in central mid and defence.

Bremen might miss a few key players tonight, so this is definitely not over for Ajax. I agree with you Dutchies, if we try to park the bus, we won't stand a chance, because we simply can't, it's not in our genes.

Ajax are very strong at home, and now they will have to do what they usually can do best, attack from the beginning, unlike in the first match when they tried to play (very) defensive and therefore made it much easier for us.

If Ajax can score an early goal, our already unsettled team might get nervous and play in their hands. For us, it will be vital to gain confidence with a robust defence first, and then increase the pressure. We basically have to survive the first wave of 'angry' Ajax attacks, and then return the favour.
I hope that we use our corners and free kicks today, since we have quite a few players who are strong in the air and cause problems for the Ajax defence.

Dutch teams had a perfect record against Bremen...until ajax came..

Nothing suspicious Cool .. if Ajax lose (which they have already) our incompetent coach, who should have been at the Nou Camp last night would be out in the summer ..

That is stage 1 .. he needs to make Ajax not be in the European Cup next year and mess up in the league.

Still, i want a Ajax win Wink, good to beat the Germans when you have the opportunity.
