We were controlling the match, and then just gave it away to Ajax. I can't fucking believe it.

Ajax - Werder 3-1 FT.
Fully deserved win for Ajax. We were simply awful for most of the second half, the worst performance of the season, and that's saying a LOT. We are through, but without a miracle happening soon, we'll be out in the next round.
I don't even want to think about the league now. I'm extremely pissed off.

Well good thing that ajax is out. But they did a good job. They lost it in Bremen...harsh if you know that the second goal wasnt over the line

Celta Vigo in the next round. With a shitty performance like this, we can basically forget about it already.

I really don't know what's happened to you guys blut. Dominated the Bundesliga for pretty much the first half of the season and more than held your own in the Champions League. Perhaps this winter break isn't as beneficial as some suggest after all?

It wasn't beneficial for us at least S4P. Our players have become lazy and complacent, God knows why. It's an attitude thing, our coach really has to make them understand that you always have to give 100%, no matter who you play against.

Re: Ajax- Bremen
I never want to see Pasanen in a Werder kit again. Easily our worst player tonight, Babel repeatedly raped him and made him his bitch. Probably the best Ajax player tonight.
He cost us a goal in the CL against Chelsea already, has been shit every time he played. He and Vranjes have to go, we definitely need to replace them.

I was meaning to ask you if Pasanen and Jensen are regular starters for Werder, both couldn't cut it in de Eredivisie...
I guess I know your answer on Pasanen

Re: Ajax- Bremen
Jensen actually had quite a few good matches for us this season, although he was awful tonight also. When Baumann is fit, he'll be benched again I think, he is a very good sub. Our best midfield lineup looks like this:
-------------Baumann------------
Frings-------------------Borowski
--------------Diego---------------
Baumann is one of the most underrated players in the Bundesliga. An excellent DMC.

Wiese easily for us, the only player with normal form. Some excellent saves again. Wiese for Nationalmannschaft!
Babel impressed me most for Ajax, Leonardo was great also.

Nobody seems to be happy in the Werder forums. Most fans are absolutely pissed off about their team, it doesn't even matter that we are through.

I can understand, Werder are out of form big time. Let's face it I loath ajax but if they had 11 men they would be thru to the next round. Also the miss of Baumann cant be underestimated.

Yep, he's definitely growing and finding his form.
He's fast, he's strong, he's got a good shot and decent mentality.
He's got a very bad first touch, poor control and vision though...

how we missed your particular kind of optimism, blut
blut: I need to poo
Schatzi: then go and poo
blut: but what if we run out of toilet paper ?
Schatzi: there is still half a roll left; we'll get more tomorrow
blut: but what if it rains and the roofs leaks and the water soaks that half a roll of toilet paper; what will we do then?
Schatzi: it's not raining
it now starts to rain !!!!
blut: you SEEEEEE ; I knew it ; look , it's raining cats and dogs
Schatzi: don't worry, bluetchen, the roof will not leak
A few drops drip through the toilet roof
blut: SEEEEEEEEEE ; we are DOOOOOOOOOOOOOMED
Schatzi takes the half-roll and puts it into a plastic bag
Schatzi: problem solved, sweetie; now you'll take it out when you need it
blut: but then we won't have anything for a rainy day; what if it continues to rain for days ? what if we cannot leave the house because of floodings ? we have to ration our toilet paper, Schatzi
Donner und Blitzen fill the sky; lightening strikes the house and divides it into two; blut sits on the closed toilet seat, hugging his plastic protected toilet roll when God descends from the sky and rages
"blut , you were not prepared for this toilet paper emergency ; it was always clear you would never be able to wipe your behind in a true Notfall ; you disappoint me; you disappoint me bitterly; as a punishment, I will take your remaining half-roll up to heaven and let you learn your lesson"
blut wakes up, shaking, drenched in sweat, raving
Schatzi: aber bluetchen, was ist denn los mit Dir ? ; Du bist ja ganz naerrisch

Re: Ajax- Bremen
Hahaha......Du Sack!
Without Wiese's awesome performance today, we definitely would have lost the match 10-1 and went out. That performance reminded me of Kahn in his best days, both are a similar type of keeper, unbelievably strong on the line. Wiese has less temper problems though...
When Vranjes came for Diego at HT, I was actually joking when I said that we are doomed, knowing how shit Vranjes can be for us sometimes. But after we just gave the match away to Ajax, I really couldn't laugh about it anymore, and my worst fears became reality.
Das war gar nichts heute otto, absolut gar nichts.

@ blut
I agree with you; Werder have lost their mojo
defensively they are all over the place and even in midfield nothing really works; Klose looks confused as well
they have to find more stability and settle , but how ?
the most important thing now is to qualify for the CL
fortunately, Bayern are out of sorts as well
when will we know their next opponent in the UEFA Cup ?
------------
great Huntelaar goal by the way
Ajax in the second half were class

Re: Ajax- Bremen
look at it this way: it can only get better than today's second half
and IT WILL
they need to boost their confidence in the meantime though
once Diego, Frings and Klose start scoring again, we'll be back to our old best
Bremen will revenge Bayern for the Real debacle
those Spanish have something coming; they just don't know it yet
off to bed
sleep well tonight
everything's going to be alright
nothing a few Jaegermeister cannot solve

Re: Ajax- Bremen
If we had the form of last year, I wouldn't be afraid of any team left in the competition, including Sevilla, like I said elsewhere. But unfortunately, we don't.
You are right, it doesn't get much worse than this, and only can get better. I seriously hope that the team has finally understood this also, they really need to get their act together.
Frings needs to eat a humble pie today btw., a rather bad match for him. Considering how much he was attacking the others in the last few days, he really didn't set a positive example today either.
We need Baumann back, our 'real' captain who has a very natural authority. Frings usually leads by example, with constantly great performances. He is not an Effenberg to piss the others off and get away with it.
