Tevez set to stay? Empty Tevez set to stay?

Post by Deano Tue Feb 27, 2007 10:33 am

West Ham,Carlos Tevez and MSI are negotiating a deal which could see the club buy the Argentina star outright even if the club are relegated from The Premiership.

Tevez is said to be settled in England and the area and would not be in any hurry to leave the club. The relationship between Vice President Terence Brown and MSI Investor Kia Joorabchian means West Ham have the first option to buy Tevez if a deal can be agreed.

Dean Ashton,Lucas Neill,Matthew Upson,Luis Boa Morte,Robert Green,Daniel Gabbidon and Yossi Benayoun are also all set to give at least 1 season in the Championship.

    Jon Spector,Anton Ferdinand,Nigel Reo-Coker,John Pantsil,Marlon Harewood,Paul Konchesky,Teddy Sheringham,Carlton Cole,Kepa Blanco,Roy Carroll,Tyrone Mears and Matthew Etherington will all leave the club in the summer..

I can't see him wanting to stay if they get relegated - going from three times S. american player of the year to championship football would be a bit ridiculous.

If they stay up I could see it happening though, he needs to get the curse lifted off him though, else he'll never score for the Hammers!

Well I'm not saying it's gospel but it comes from a very good source...

Remember Tweeds...Tevez has signed for four years and all we really have to agree a deal with is MSI....

Still we can only see...he is young like most of our players...and 1 season to get us back wouldn't hurt!

Tevez in the championship...if players like NRC, Anton and the like think they are better than the championship what does that make Tevez...

Mind you, there is an assumption it will be just 1 season...too good to be relegated, too good to be in the championship longer than 1 season....

It just seems a bit far-fetched Deano.

I can't see a player fo that quality and with the repuation that he has for not being totally professional, wanting to play in the championship

Loyalty from players is almost exclusively a thing of the past. Sadly players with the attitude of the likes of Brooking seem to be non-existant. If club or player receive a good offer, whoever they are, they will go. No good offer means probably stay.
More a question of has Tevez done enough to convince «bigger» teams that he can play at the higher levels, are there going to be contractrial problems if they wish to sign him. I think that if it's in his best interests he'll be on his bike. If he stays, then that will be tremendous for the likes of Scunthorpe fans. It must be beyond their wildest dreams to see players of his quality playing at their stadium in league football.

he will have signed for a spanish team (or one of the big 4)by the 6th of june!
the bloke has lost his place in argie national team because of going to west ham: he isnt likely to get it back by impressing against the likes of norwich and wolves. No chance he will stay if they go down.

Barca: can't see it - they have many similar players to him there at present.

Real - maybe but Higuain occupies a similar position, can't see it.

    Valencia - a possibility I suppose

Sevilla - likewise - would be a good move IMO.

hmmmmmm, i remember a quote by their manager about it, id look it up but i cant be arsed... his form has completely gone since going to west ham (masca too) so my facts are right. he was injured (well maybe) for last game but on current form he is behind Milito, crespo, cruz, agureo to name but a few... i like tevez -one of my favourite players- and i dont like to see him stuck in a morass, but take ur blinkers off for a second, 0% chance of him staying to play in championship!

The reason I make the assumption that they think they are too good for the championship is because according to that article they are leaving the club in the summer.

The end of the season is still a long time away, enough time for him to kick a fuss should he decide to. As I said earlier, can't imagine that if the likes of NRCand Anton jump ship and somehow make a club in the pl that Tevez won't be thinking the same thing.

You can believe whatever the hell you want..I support the club..I know he was injured. Also his form hasn't been poor...for the numpties who think not socring=being shit..perhaps you should actually watch football. Tevez has done well whenever he has played..doesn't help if he is the only 1 who cares and is shows commitment...Also did I day he is staying in the Championship?? I put a question mark in the title and said it came from a good source...I suggest that if you want to argue with me you look on a site find out the terms of the contract, the time of injury etc...If not..then run along ok

Thye are leaving because we want to sell them....they both have long contracts...Ferdinand has 5 years. We don't have to sell nobody given our financial situation...again I didn't say Tevez was staying..its up to MSI where he goes...if he does go, hopefully not to Liverpool...they already fuck me off like they managed to prise Mascherano away or something...

Tevez has been poor - if you compare this form to the fact that he was thrice S. American player of the year Yikes

And for a forward, not having scored all season does = poor form, jesus, people have been laying into Rooney for his poor scoring record, at least he's got ten goals and a lot more assists

He has to get used to the premiership..he's a footballer not a magician...His form hasn't been poor..he has played well in every game..just so happens he is in a team where at least 7/8 of the players don't bother...

If Tevez was that poor...why is he front runner for HOTY...why do we sing his name constantly...why does he get a bigger cheer than anyone...

Deano, he's done well for you, but compared to how good you'd expect him to perform, then he hasn't lived up to expectations. Sure, there are probably 8/9 players from last season who haven't shown nearly half the desire but still, for a player playing in the position that he does, you would expect at least a couple of goals and a few more assists.

He hasn't been poor, but neither has he been world class

Why sell them, sure they haven't hit the heights of last season but somewhere in there, at the very least, are 2 better than average players which you will need in your squad should you want immediate promotion.

Deano. i agree Tevez has played well when ive seen him but not as well as he can... as Tweedle says the bloke was 3x south american player of the year by the time he was 22 (19-20-21 respectively).
he is a forward and like it or not they are judged on goals more than anything else. As i said above i want Tevez to be a sucsess as he is one of my fav players.
bit techy are we west ham fan?? oh also you may be a west ham fan but half my 5aside team (and some other friends too, i went to university in spain) is from argentina and i can tell you that most football fans in that country are shocked at what has happened to carlitos since he went to west ham... wait you better ban me now deano as i said something you might not like... facist.

I nver expected Tevez to be on fire, some people that shall not be named, were saying that this season he would completely outshine Rooney and maybe win Player of the Season.
I never expected this, but somewher ein between would have been nice - about 10 goals and a few more assists

Would've been nice if he was played every game (at last he is)
Anyway..don't anyone argue with me...I just posted an article..I can't see him staying either FWIW...just thought the debate would be interesting...
