Teams with bad second half of the season Empty Teams with bad second half of the season

Post by DD Wed Mar 21, 2007 12:22 pm

What teams are notorious for their bad second half of the season? And how come?
Is it just fatigue? Bad management? Something else?

Bolton are having a bad second half.
Curbishley's Charlton had bad second halves like clockwork.

And Stuart Pierce can also be added to that list: Last season Citeh were doing extremily well till january - Citeh failed to win after that.
This year again: Citeh again struggling with the second half of the season.

    Why?

Aston Villa are the biggest ones by far...

Bolton are still 5th so can't really say they've had a bad 2nd half..more like a bad spell.

Portsmouth also...Done very well in the first half...showed their true colours the second part.

West Ham had a shit start..then a half decent spell..then sacked Pardew and went on another slippery slope. I just hope beating Blackburn will be our catalyst.

It's not Charlton. It's Curbishley. He's just a shit manager (sorry Deano Razz). Could never motivate anyone.

How can a team in 5th have had a poor 2nd half to the season? Not like they were any higher...so how could they have been worse??

They've had a poor few games...

they've love their discipline, they've lost their fighting spirit, they will finish behind Everton and Spurs if they keep it up

ok Yeah if they carry their current form on then they WILL be the biggest example. Villa were being tipped for Europe...they are like 14th now are they?

Villa always do this as well, they are just a mid-table side if we're being honest

we haven't really collapsed 2nd half of the season . it was more november/december. since then we've been okayish. home form decent w2d2l1 (inc chelsea, arsenal, liverpool). away pretty shite. but got a reasonable run of fixtures coming up, so hopefully can finish strong and get in the top half.

always do what? we usually start shite, this season was the first for quite a few years we started well.

as for the mid-table thing, well yeah at the minute we have a mid table squad. but the club is going in the right direction (as you can see, if you look beyond short term stuff such as current league position)

Yeah im still trying to support him as much as possible, i can still see potential in his play i just think he has no confidence which i put down to Sp keep dropping him, even after he scored 3 goals in 2 games, he then dropped him. Evil or Very Mad

Many other City fans are simply fed up he doesnt score many but he ist given enough chances in the team or decent service when he does play IMO.

Cant't really see how Bolton will do well in their remaining games if they play the midfield they played on Satuday.

A midfield 3 of Campo(33) Nolan and Speed(38) is just ridiculous. Nolan is the only one with calcium in his bones.
