Interesting. I think Huntelaar has the edge now, but this could turn into a Zidane Del Pierro thing where Del Pierro was the better player for a while until about 26 then Zidane matured and eclipsed him.

It could be something simillar with these 2 with Torres being more talented and yet to fully exploit it.

Hard to say Tbh, as far as Torres goes he is more hype than anything. Had a great world cup, yes but in the leauge he is far from consistent and has runs of 2 months without a goal.

Neither are (or could ever be) anywhere near the level of a Zidane or a Delps, that's for certain.

huntelaar is beyond torres imo. torres is alot of hype and currently he is not going anywhere. it might change if he gets to a new club but at atletico he has had everything set up for him but he still cant perform and he doesnt have the old excuse about the players around him not being good enough.it can change but right now i would rather have torres.

Hard call, as I haven't seen enough of both.

Probably seen more of Torres and he has genuine quality, however he is very very inconsistent.

Finishing, movement inside the box : Huntelaar >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Torres.

skill, technique, ability to go past players: Torres >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Huntelaar.

Overall Torres is better but is far more of a risk to buy than Huntelaar: You could build your team around huntelaar by buying 2 genuine wingers that can put fantastic crosses in and he'll get you goals(that's for sure) but am not sure how u could set up your team that'll guarantee Torres producing the goods, he's just too inconsistent.

HUntelaar will not be as expensive but he won't make it in the Manchester team. He lacks the physics, pace and technique!

yeah i still hope he becomes more succesfull then torres because huntelaar relies on brains which is something football is losing.

Huntelaar was not supposed to make it in the dutch league because he was perceived to be weak and we've all seen how he's turned out.

There is nothing wrong with his technique imo. He's got very good functional technique ( a bit like crespo)- see the way he strikes the ball or how he executes some of his volleys. outside the box, u see less of it.

I am not saying Manu should go out and buy him, am just comparing him with Torres and the potential risk involved.

I prefer torres BTW but not if there is significant difference in price between them.

I tend to agree with you about his functional technique. But still, he needs to work on his physics so he becomes even more functional in his technigue.

At the current moment he is not ready to join a top club

    Torres Timeline:

    2004
Torres, included in the Spain squad for Euro 2004, is one of the hottest prospects in Europe, along with C. Ronaldo.

    2007
Torres is still a prospect, David Villa has overtaken Torres as Spains number 1 striker, C. Ronaldo is one of the best players in the World at the moment.

Huntelaar has continued to improve over the last 3 years, but i am not sure he can become as good as someone like Ruud.

Torres badly needs a move this summer IMO.

Totally agree .. he needs to 'beef' himself up.

Improve his pace and footwork to that next level.

I get slaughtered for saying this ..

But hes lucky he has Marco van Basten as his coach.

Hunt edges Torres in my opinion, torres frustrates me so much he can be so inconsitent and mainly performes in the big games. Huntelaar is fucking great he has gone from strenth to strength an dis improving at all levels every season.

Really an unfair comparison. Ronaldo is Portuguese, while Torres is....well...a Spaniard. He can't possibly compete Wink

Can't believe so many people are rating Torres over Huntelaar, but then I look closer and I see most of the ones who do are not regular Liga watchers.

Like supermadrid said, Torres is all hype. He does have talent, but has hit a ceiling right now at Atletico Madrid. Even if he does move and reignite himself, I can't see him going that far because of his poor attitude. He's just very lazy and temperamental.

How can you say that with a player scoring 26+ goals a season in a good league. The problem with Torres is that he doesn't score a lot of goals. His world cup was not too good, IMO

If he goes to Man U next year I am afraid he will be the new Kezman! He scored also 30+ goals every year in the Eredivisie!

To score a lot of goals in the Eredivisie says a lot, most of the players did/are doing well in the top leagues after being successful in the Eredivisie but it doesn't say it all.
