Torres is playing in Spain and Huntelaar in Holland so it's unfair to compare the two now. Spain has a stronger league and it's harder to score. Let's with for Huntelaar to go to one of the 3 big leagues and then we'll see who is better. I think Juve is looking to get him.

Huntelaar. And next year still. Torres isn't called el niño for nothing - throws a wobbler way to often.

Huntelaar scores 19 goal in the league and has 26 goals whilst this has been a very bad year for him. All the way through to january he has suffered from second season syndrome.

IMO Huntelaar isn't fully honed yet, and would do better to stay one more year in the eredivisie. Yes, he's a bit light, but most of his goals has nothing to do with pushing your weight around, look at how many times he gets a last minute bicycle kick to score (without using his weight!), completely outsmarting defences and his vision is oustanding and so is his technique. I also think his movement and vison outside the box is underrated.

This is from last year at the u-21 WC (which they won):
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pl1xKWjOIuo

What Huntelaar needs to do is beef up a bit more, and get even more experience IMO. His drawback is that he's only really optimal in a 4-2-2 system. Nowhere near as good in a 4-3-3. And needs the manager to believe in him.

Whoever said that he won't be as good as RVN (at his prime) needs to lay off the crack. This kid guarentees goals. However, he's not as good a target man as Ruud ever was.

Torres might have better technique, but he's too hot and cold, doesn't perform too often and too temperamental.

    I'd prefer Huntelaar

Huntelaar the 3rd most successful Dutch 'goalscorer' in the Erevidise has had since van Basten

    100th appearance / goals

    van Basten - 90goals in 100 games
Huntelaar - 68 goals in 100games (44 goals in 35 games for Ajax in the league ..)

    Is van Hooijdonk 2nd?

Romario also had the same rate as van Basten (90 goals in 100 games)

van Basten is the right man to 'mentor' him .. Gullit and Bergkamp are KJH heroes..

    I think RVN's was

30 goals in first 100 games

This was for his 1st two clubs Den Bosch and Heerenveen

    he went to PSV

    and the rest is history.

KJH scores goals for fun and looks like the new Ruud, which is some accolade, he has scored in the CL, Uefa, International football so he doesnt look like the new Kezman.

El Nino looks the better player, but his finishing is inconsistent and he dives way too much. However hew has the all round game to fit into the united team. I think KJH would limit the united team the way Ruud did in his last season.

Why compare Torres with a statue? Torres is a class striker (imo still not worldclass) with a lot of movement; KJH is worldclass at being at the right spot at the right time, is a better finisher, BUT is useless apart from that. He mainly fouls or is moaning about being fouled. Huntelaar is a black hole; if you play the ball to him, it's gone (he mainly loses it & 'makes up' for that by being prolific).

Taking everything into account Torres >>> Huntelaar.

I can't believe how underrated Huntelaar is at the moment....

He's nothing but a poacher, that's true : but he is one of the *ultimate* poachers and scores anywhere and everywhere.

He should go to Italy IMO : within two years they'll be building statues in honor of him Ale

He is Trez rather than Pippo.

Huntelaar is brilliant at converting crosses regardless of the height that that they come to him he can adjust and finish.

However, few goals are scored from crosses now as a well organised defence can deal with them - he has no pace or aggression and he doesn't create for others.

Think about it - a 186cm CF with a great goal scoring record and he hasn't left Holland at 25 (next month).

There must be a reason why the top clubs don't fancy him and I'll piss my pants if United sign him Laugh

Schuster was comparing the ability of Van Basten being a lethal finisher same as Huntelaar. That I will agree with, I don’t think he (Schuster) compared the all round games.
