Well kevin , if its been 7 or 8 then you can make an assumption on him if you wantKevin mk 2 wrote:Tweedle wrote:Ballack wrote:Belgium were better than Portugual yesterday, thats a clear fact. Everyone could clearly see that!

Beglium were better on the day -it doesn't neccessarily mean that Moutinho, Nani and Fernandes aren't very good players though
Course not, having seen Fernandes for Everton, he's clearly a good player. As is Moutinho although i've only seen him a few times so i won't judge him.

it's still a decent team
lots of pace and effort in it, if a little lacking in subtlety
the milk float and reo coker hold the key to the game

I'm just glad this won't be the team playing Italy, or the "Azzurini's" as some people seem to be calling them - gay nickname if ever i saw one.

Azzurrini is already plural, so no need to add the "s".... its not like some people have just started calling them that, they used to be called that 20 years ago when I started watching football...it just means young azzurri, what gay about that??

Re: U21s Euro Championship 2007
Personally I think Holland and Italy are the teams to beat... Holland are at home, and Italy have some kind of a stronghold on this championship (winning 5 of the last 8 editions!!)
jonathan de guzman wrote:So worse than Belgiums?Tweedle wrote:Rossi and Pazzini should start in those indecisive positions - that midfield is on a par with Portugals.

@bluenine
Holland will not win this tournament. My favs Italy, England, Portugal & Belgium.

Re: U21s Euro Championship 2007
Pelle can also play wide.... Pelle+Palladino were clearly the starters till 3 months ago, but since then Pazzini and Rossi have really emerged!!
Yeah, I think now casiraghi has a selection headache when it comes to strikers... the first to get the axe was the talented Pozzi (pun not intended, but he sacrificed his finger to be able to play this tournament) and the next was Lupoli... both could not even make the squad!!
Now its like a toss.... Palladino and Pelle have been staring in Serie B, but now Pazzini and Rossi have shone in Serie A!!!
I will be watching the composure of the young defence with great interest... all 4 of these are touted as future superstars...

Agooner wrote:bluenine wrote:The dutchies played very well yesterday and made their mark as favourites... can the azzurrini match them in their display against the talented serbs tonight?
This is going to be interesing... don't have the confirmed line-up yet, but its likely to be:
------------------Curci
Motta - Andreolli - Mantovani - Chiellini
----------------Nocerino
Rosina - Montolivo - Aquilani - Pelle/Rossi
--------------Pazzini/Palladino
But I do hope Casiraghi starts the talented Dessena today instead of Nocerino...
I'll be looking out for those players.
I thought pelle was more of a forward( target man), isn't he?

Fey wrote:People underestimate Belgium, why??? Because they never heard those names before? I mean since C.Ronaldo every other good player has to be Portuguese, right?!
Mountinho is one of the most highly rated young central midfielders in Europe, Fernandes has played very well in the CL (when they beat united and knocked pool out) and for Everton and Nani just got bought for £16m by united. Also these players have all played for Portugal, who are a very good side.
Belgium dont have any players with such high reputations, although De Mul plays for Ajax and Kompany is good in football manager. Also the senior Belgium side isnt very good and had just been beaten twice by a Portugal side that contained Nani and Mountinho. So you can see why they might have underestimated them.
Despite the Belgium hype they only drew 0-0, its not like they beat them. Belgium played one of their best games* and Portugal played one of their worst games, but still drew. So I imagine Portugal will fancy their chances if they meet again.
*I havent seen them play before tonight, but going on peoples reactions, I assume they played better than many expected or were used to. Therefore I am assuming that was one of their best games.

Arhnem scum. Gelredome was asking twice the entrance of all other stadiums even for their shite seats. It is three times cheaper to see the games in Nijmegen (serbia-Italy, Serbia-Czech, Serbia - England).Puro wrote:Another empty stadium. What's going on in the Netherlands?
Gelredome thought it was more importnat to charge high prices instead of filling a stadium. Their choice.
