The game against at Liverpool at Anfield in 2002 he was crap, but apart from that? He was pretty good in the first game against Arsenal, got sent off because Keown faked an injury in the 2nd game. I also thought he was very good against England in 2002.

bluenine wrote:Totti is never associated with a high EQ. Or IQ for that matter. So I am not surprised that SAFs comments hurt his ego, and probably thats what the intention was in the first place.

But as a player, he has been the best player in Serie A in the last 8 years, BY MILES. 5 years ago, all top sides in Italy were ready to break the bank if Totti could be convinced to leave Roma. No one individual has had such an impact on Serie A since Roberto Baggio. He is also the most fouled player in Serie A, year on year, for many years now. Infact he is usually the most fouled player in every competition he plays, including this seasons CL. That shows that his opponents respect his abilities, and are probably scared of it. And they should be. Take Totti out, and Roma will probably colapse against ManU. No one who follows Serie A will doubt his obvious ability.

The cage and zoo comments are meant as a joke, he has a wierd sense of humour... did I mention a low IQ? Smile

Parks lives wrote:I'm all for characters in the game but surely this shows some insecurities inside Totti, if a simple comment from Fergie saying he thinks Mancini and De Rossi will be Roma's danger men gets this response.

The cage and zoo comments are just hilarious.
You seem to hold him in pretty high esteem...in fact reverance
Somehow I am not convinced if he is a big match player. Or maybe he will prove us wrong day after

Tbh, its a 50-50 tie could go either way...

But with Saha out and Rooney goal shy, it will be hard to find goals bar Ronaldo. Although Giggsy chips in...

The second leg is at OT... Which is crucial IMO, as in home support and away goals.

Tweedle - Totti was very good in the 1st Arsenal game which is why that pock-faced monkey was so keen to get him off the pitch in the 2nd game (using any means possible).

The cage references are due to a tactic some Italian teams use to stop a number 10.

The Atalanta manager promised he would "make a cage for Totti" before the 2 teams met in Rome like they did for Kaka - I think it basically means you have many players around this player when u lose the ball to form a cage round him.

Park Lives - your formation could never work 'cos purple nose is a motivator not a tactician and would never be able to do 3 at the back.

    Roma's star players are 30 and 26 years old - Man U's are 22 and 21.

    Roma have the edge.

    * It would be typical if Perrotta scores over the 2 legs so the commentators can make reference to him being born close to OT.

IMO Rooney does not deserve to be counted in the same category as Mancini. De Rossi is also a class act; a complete midfielder in my books. He just need to watch his temper.

I think they'll be a few cards to be honest.

Scholes, Heinze and Brown will all get yellows, all love a niggly foul. Rooney may get a red.

Then you have Mexes, De Rossi and Totti for Roma.
