German CONVEYOR-BELT of TALENT: no end in sight Empty German CONVEYOR-BELT of TALENT: no end in sight

    Post by Ä Wed Apr 04, 2007 4:15 pm

how do these Germans DO IT ??

one established international superstar bites the dust, steps forward a young, no-name German talent doing the job even better

Kahn is out: Rensing produces world class saves galore

Sagnol is out: Lell makes the right side his own becoming the player of the match (apart from vBuyten)

van Bommel gets a double yellow: Ottl puts in a sensational performance, as already against Inter

    ------------

this kind of madness, which you would only expect to happen in Brazil, is an everyday occurrence in German football these days

Lahm has to swtich to the right in the Nationalmannschaft against the Czechs; in moves JANSEN, a kid from Gladbach , who plays so well that Ballack says he looks like a Nationalmannschaft veteran

Klose cannot make it for Germany giving GOMEZ a shot who promtly scores in his firm game for Kaiser and Vaterland

Rost loses his place at Schalke; Neuer, a 20 year old kid takes his place in goal and produces world class saves for fun

    and so it continues

    --------------------

what do we learn from this ??

    a) most of us don't have enough numbers in our head to quantify the endless supply of German talents

    b) all you need to do to see them flourish is to PLAY them

    --------------------

Sammer predicts Germany to lift the EUropean Cup; Beckenbauer thinks we are now Europe's No 1

the truth is: you should no worry about Euro 2008

you should worry about the NEXT TEN YEARS, because there are more from where Ottl, Rensing, Wiese, Lell, Gomez and Lahm are coming from

they are the top of the iceberg that is immune to global warming

    <Ale> lol!

Podolski, Schweini and Lahm all have serious problems right now

they will bounce back BIG TIME, but considerably weaken Bayern at the moment; yesterday they were SHITE

Klose is out of sorts as well and I am still awaiting the return of Borowski to former glory

Kahn is simply a JOKE these day; has some serious issues

and yet, none of this seems to matter in the Nationalmannschaft since there is always somebody else popping up

wait till you see Gomez, or even younger, Helmes, the next two German superstrikers Very Happy

Helmes plays for Cologne in the SECOND league

he was injured for some time; chrissi has the exact details

the boy was brought on in last 20 minutes against Denmark and immediately changed the game, carving out three wonderful chances

he is going to be sensational

Schlaudraff is also very talented; I don't like him quite as much though; there is something wrong about his body-language

You still can't produce flair players like Iniesta, Cesc, Silva, Puerta, Navas etc etc..

But you have good talent coming along and certainly won't have to worry about us since we will self destruct as usual..

    in the near future: non-existent

he does not even want to go to a bigger club in the Bundesliga right now; Stuttgart is just right for him to learn and develop

Jansen could be tempted to go abroad though; or so he said

who needs flair when you can steamroll the opposition lol!

actually, ole, you are right and wrong at the same time

Lahm, Wiese, Schweini, Poldi all have truckloads of FLAIR , even if some of them are rather mediocre at the moment

Helmes is full of flair as well; ditto Jansen

    BUT

it's true to say that German managers tend to emphasize effectiveness over entertainment

    EVEN Klinsi affraid

there is a wonderful moment in the German World Cup documentary "Sommermaerchen", where Klinsi tells SChweini before the Portugal game NOT to play like a Portuguese; ie: NO FLUFF, no oversteps, get to the point

I guess he took it to heart rather well lol!

Thats pretty good, but can he make the step up?

This season we (arsenal) sent one of our players to the Scottish Premier League where he wracked up 15 goals in 20 games, but since he's moved to Sunderland his record has been less than impressive

What happened to Kiessling, who was atuted in a similar thread a while ago as the next big thing. Only saw Bayer play once this season (last UEFA Cup match), he was the only Bayer player not playing well. Today he was subbed of after the 1st half after according to kicker a crap performance.

Was the Kiessling hype premature or is he just having a bad season?

Today he was shit though. Atm I think Helmes and Gomez are our best prospects as forwards...

Otto won't respond to this. He would rather cream his pants over Teutonic football fantasies rather than come to terms with insignificant details like this.

Still gotta love how he fights his corner. If he can get more than 10 responses to probably the most absurd claims on this board, then kudos to him. He is fantastic at rhetoric.

Because half of the U21 played for the senior team.

But no excuses, I fully expect our current U21 team (and other youth teams) to qualify for the next major tournaments.

First season at a big(ger) club syndrome. And what Dark Savant said, him being the most expensive transfer for Leverkusen last year didn't help things, because expectations and pressure were high. chrissi is right, he had some good matches for Leverkusen in the last few weeks, gaining form.

He is talented, but talent alone won't make you a great player. I expect him to be more consistent next year.
