I for one would agree with that (cert for footballing purists), with admittedly a case to be made for Liverpool.

They are the only ones who are practically through to the next round. The others might not even make it there, so how can they be favourite to win the whole thing ahead of Liverpool?

it's weird to see roma below manu let alone below bayern, chelsea etc who all got a draw.
Roma is ahead in their tie, and manu lost scholes for the next game

I just think that though Roma are favourites to go through against Man. Utd., I just can't see them actually winning the competition. I've ranked these teams by who I can truly see lifting the trophy in Athens, not just who will go farthest. That's also why I have Milan above Roma and Man. Utd.

There is a more interesting competition going on the back of this CL... The EB Cup
None of the games are over, far from it. My analysis:
Fey 50% - 50% Bluenine
Ricardo 50% - 50% Lrd
Murray 55% - 45% Sparta
Deano 40% - 60% Kasani

Lol!
Do we have another round of bidding before the semis? I can't see myself doing so well again with this squad. This matchday was very lucky for me with Riise and Finnan's performances. Don't forget I was the lowest scoring winner from the last round.

Name the chances they had other than the goals? (and both of them were fortunate)
Could I see the same reaction and praise if we beat Roma 2-1 at Old Trafford if De Rossi had been sent off with an hour to go? No.

Pity that Rooney's just 22 and about to go into the best years of his career unlike Totti who's career will be ovr in a couple of years.
Only to get through once to the last 16 of the CL for a player of that quality is piss poor

Totti is a world champion.

Your last statement isn't right though....the correct manager and England can easily win it. No one can deny the quality in the side (apart from Otto)

Rooney 'will never win the World Cup' .. tell us what else happens in the future ..
Wait .. Roma is supposed to be better than Manchester United, use another excuse please.
btw, there have been a lot of World Champions in the past who have won the European Cup aswell
i.e. Del Piero

Yeah, one final round of bidding before the semis. Its reached a stage where you need to back the right teams not just the right players, it will be an interesting finish!
We will have a EuroBoard Cup champion after a season of tough qualifying and competing!

Del Piero plays for Juventus. Totti plays for Roma.
Juve have done better than Roma in the Champions League.
Del Piero is a World Champion.
Totti is a World Champion.

OK, i ask a simple question: who is the better team (not based on yesterday's game) but overall
But Rooney WILL NEVER WIN the World Cup.
Are you saying this because of England's recent problems
Will Rafael van der Vaart win the World Cup ?

Rai
Man U are a better side with more experience and a very shrewd coach.
But Roma are going from strength to strength. On their day they can wreak havoc; on an off day they can fold. Yesterday's goal by Rooney proved the point. United cannily took their chance, while Roma weren't cynical enough.
I can only speculate whether or not the Dutch curse will end; I can tell you this that RVV has a better chance than Rooney of winning an international trophy.
