Knowing Beiersdorfer, you are probably right. Guess Chelsea paid good money, they always do, and Hamburg really needed the money to afford a class striker. They will find a good replacement, definitely, but the Bundesliga has started already, and the new player will have to gel with the team first. So it does help the other Bundesliga clubs. Btw., Kompany is (slightly) injured.

HSV fans are pissed, reading the HSV forums right now. Not so much about the transfer per se, but about their staff lying to them. HSV staff said that Boula was injured, so he could not play against Osasuna in the Champions League qualification. Some fans believe that he was not injured (according to the staff, he still is 'injured', that's why he supposedly won't play tomorrow (we now know that he'll be in London), he didn't play because that would have meant that he could not have played for Chelsea in the Champions League this season.

Chelsea must have offered a good sum, but who would be surprised by that?

Good signing, I have to say. Will fit well into the premiership due to his physical style. Like people have said, he's similar to Vidic.

Heh, in the German forums people are speculating about a possible transfer of Huth to HSV in exchange. Now that would be ironic. Holland Sport Verein finally have a German international, Huth (!), he of all people!

Huth has potential, no doubt, but he still needs to learn a lot.

The man is an animal. He isn't called the Butcher of Hamburg for nothing.
He is a on the cusp of a WC CB and can play RB. I've seen him for a couple of years, and I believed he's been passed only once.
Nothing gets past him. Very physical too, but in a exclusive continental way. That means that he can actually move on pitch, instead of just heading balls away. He's already as good as Stam was three four years ago.
Only negative: Will get a red once a year. And ás a fullback he isn't the type that contributes a lot setting up play (like Kromkamp can for example).

And Carvalho and Ferreira are just very good . This guy is potentially the very best in what he does. Proven in two leagues.

Any way, this is no hype Hadrada, You guys have one of the best defenders in the league now.

I think this is the transfer of the last two weeks. In sheer ingenuity and shock value its the biggest one of the summer IMHO.
It dwarfs the Kuijt transfer .

It's kinda scary though. A few days ago, I wrote in the Chelski thread that Rainer Bonhof works as a scout for them now. His job is to scout Germany and Austria for young promising talent. Hope that they won't go on a shopping spree now, because like I said, there are a ton of excelllent players in the league that would be a real bargain to them...
