This is the make or break game of the season for Liverpool, It's funny, in 2005 I don't remember feeling this nervous about the game, it was make or break then as well, we were 5th in the league with only that to play for, but now in 2007 it feels so much more, everything depends on this game, it's either going to be the best night of my life at Anfield (I wasn't there in 2005 and so far I haven't experienced anything there that is better than what it could be like tomorrow) or it could be one of the worst.
At the end of the day we're talking about a European cup final, that in itself is massive, but because of the way things can go this season and the different mouth watering outcomes that could come from certain wins this is absolutely huge, Athens without Liverpool would be devastating.
The chips are down for Liverpool, that's certain and despite what Mourinho says we are under-dogs, Chelsea are a goal up, they didn't concede an away goal, they want to avenge the 2005 semi final and it's going to be incredibly hard for Liverpool, if Chelsea were still very much involved in the title race I'd be a lot more confident but it seems the European cup is the first priority for Jose this season and he will do anything to get it.
Benitez has said if Chelsea do score first we are capeable of scoring 3 to go through. I'm not so sure, only 2 teams have scored 3 against Chelsea under Mourinho i'f memory serves me right and once they go a goal up, much like Liverpool they are experts at defending their lead, after all this is the best Defence statistically in the league at the moment.
What they did at Valencia was incredible, it was a remarkable performance in a tough tough game, they showed that they fight until the end in this competition, they have had enough of getting knocked out in the semi final, they want the final.
The advantage for Liverpool as we all know is the home atmosphere, now I know we go on about it a lot and you've heard it all but I really believe tomorrow night could be the loudest night at Anfield you will ever witness, if we win the tie I am certain it wille eclipse 2005. Simply because of Mourinho's comments and the apprant arrogance not so much from the players but the fans, like in 2005 they have booked their flights for Anthens, they are rubbishing a possible comeback, they are dismissing the Anfield atmosphere.
Someone put it very good on RAWK today, tonight all Liverpool fans will feel like a kid on christmas eve, everyone is looking forward to it immensely, sure we are nervous but at the end of the day we have nothing to lose, we aren't favorites, the prize is a European cup final and Liverpool will give their all to get there, I hope and pray it will be another special night at Anfield
