Robben was clearly shaking "no" at Mourinho when he was making the rounds to take names...

He probably brought Geremi on because he's a penalty specialist...

    No.

    In theory:

    1. Lampard
    2. Drogba
    3. Robben
    4. Geremi

(in terms of how good they are)

I would imagine Terry would have been one of the top 5, but the only pen. I've seen Essien take was a miss vs PSV in 05.

Robben has scored 2 I remember (charlton and Euro04), Geremi is the national taker for Cameroon.

That said, I really think Cech should be saving more. Whatever your takers do it's going to be struggle if their players get 4 of 4.

Hiddink doesn't think Robben's shaking no was meant as "No I don't want to take it".

Okay, we'll believe the *real* Special One then Smile

I didn't think it was either. It's odd how people drew assumptions from a 2 second video clip without any words or proper knowledge of the context in which the gestures were made.

the Liverpool penalties were taken inch perfect though. Very professional. And even their Dutchmen scored there!

And the Geremi sub, quite ironic.

he should have saved Alonso's and Gerrards penalty was far from perfect.

I have to admit I was very surprised when I seen Robben step up first for Chelsea. I had only ever seen him score once from one and that was vs. Sweden at Euro 2004. Even then he was a sudden death choice!

Maybe Ashley Cole would have been an option too. He scored some crucial spotkicks over the last few years. Like in the FA Cup Final in 2005 and vs. Portugal in Euro 2004.

I thought alonso's penalty was a bit close until I saw the replay and saw the speed of his shot, then I thought ok, maybe not that close. For gerrard I thought cech had dived early so gerrard just slid it the other side rather than going for the corner. Zenden's penalty was perfect.

alonso's penalty was hammered into the corner. practically impossible to get. there was probably more chance of reina getting lampard's as he actually dived too soon and lampard hit it more towards the middle of the goal

gerrard just waited until cech moved and hit it the other way

I should think so, but then Geremi smacked it low down the middle, which is what any player can do, so i must say i was pretty mystified at why he didn't go for a corner. Also, if your going down the middle, keep it high and aim just under the bar, precisely so that the keeper doesnt save it with his legs.
