Explain further.
What's to Explain? Milan have won it 6 times, Liverpool have won it 5, the only team who has done better is Madrid, therefore two of the greatest teams in the history of the competition are battling it out in the final, that is what it's all about
For sure ; Milan + Liverpool two of the most successful 3 .. but teams with 5 or less deserve to be in Finals due to merit
That is what the European Cup is about ..
the European Cup is not a monopoly for 3

you have to accept that they have something to feel bitter about luisLuis wrote:Ye of course, Don't get me wrong I respect Milan a great deal I just don't buy into all this 'slag your oponents off before hand' attitude, maybe I was wrong with Milan, Mourinho was certainly guilty of it.
May the best team win, Milan are a fantastic team with fantastic fans and it is a final with two European giants, the way it should be
we go into the game with nothing but positive thoughts
they go in with the memory of isntabul still weighing heavily on their minds
the press releases are just normal behaviour from them in such a situation IMO

That's exactly what I said
It is a fantastic occasion that's all, both teams have so much history in the competition, both have a special connection with the cup and therfore the powers that be have guided the two teams to the final.

kewell- just back from injury
auerlio - injured
garcia - injured
the only other option would be riise with arbeloa at right back but he won't do this.
personally I think it will be
gerrard.....xabi...mascha...kewell
but it could easily be zenden for kewell
Just realised I completely forgot about gonzalez frank
What an impact he has made this season

Bellamy against the 'creaky' milan backline
he has a 50/50 chance with crouch IMo if we play 2 strikers

To the Liverpool fans.
Ancelotti does not 'slag off' opponents, nor has he even criticised Liverpool, i really don't understand where you are getting all these interviews from?
In fact, Ancelotti is an incredibly humble and gracious coach, he is humble in victory, he is humble in defeat, he may be quite dull to listen to, but he comes across as a very nice man.
As Ancelotti laughed earlier, he cannot understand where your medias are getting all these 'stories' and 'quotes' from!
You would hope that instead of creating 'stories' and trying to invent controversy, the medias would focus on a final which surely will have unbelievable emotion and meaning, two sets of passionate and vocal fans, two sides who together with Real Madrid 'own' this competition, two sides who cherish and love this trophy, and two fantastic coaches, both with different philosophies, a genuine clash of two football ethics which cause great battles.

Let's show them how a final is mean to be, after all no one does final's like Liverpool
Come on you reds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finnan--Carra--Agger--Riise
-------------Masch------------
--------Alonso---Momo-------
------------Gerrard-----------
----------Bellamy--Kuyt------
Crouch to come on near the end of the game.

If this is the system played then I think Masch will be the sitting midfielder with Sissoko being box-to-box. I would also prefer Alonso and Gerrard to swap places.Rafa wrote:I think the team Rafa will choose will be:

WORST POSSIBLE NEWS FOR MILAN
So, that's the verdict of football legend/prediction idiot Pele.
Pretty fair assessment by him, to be fair. Still doesn't bode well for Milan fans.
Pele wrote:
“It is logical that they (Milan) are the favourites, considering how they improved against Bayern Munich and Manchester United. This is the great opportunity to take revenge for Istanbul. This will be a very different game to the two legs against Manchester United. Liverpool do not play that kind of spectacular, open and attacking football. They are physically strong, clam up and go on the counter pushed by Steven Gerrard. A cool head will be essential. I can imagine a great battle between Javier Mascherano and Gennaro Gattuso. Milan are technically superior and have two players who can make the difference – Kaka and Seedorf. The Dutchman gives a quiet balance, hides the ball from opponents and provides assists. Together those two equal a Champions League winning combination. Whatever the result, it looks as if Kaka will be crowned top scorer for this competition, having already netted 10 goals. He is the best player in the world along with Ronaldinho. I hope he can bring the Champions League to Milan. He above all reminds me of Johann Cruyff with that progression, pace, eye for goal and when he starts from midfield he’s unique. Kaka has improved so much – more than I thought possible –even if you could tell from a young age he would go far. When he is on form, Milan are devastating. Cristiano Ronaldo is on the road to being among the best, but there’s a long way to go yet. He reminds me of Julinho, who played for Palmeiras and Fiorentina. I put him in the second tier along with Lionel Messi and Wayne Rooney.

Rafa:
"Six weeks ago it might have been us who were the favourites but now AC Milan have beaten Manchester United and maybe people think they are favourites.
"It doesn't matter, really. We still approach the game in the same way. They have a good team, we have a good team."
He added: "I still have my notes from Istanbul - not as a souvenir but because I will use them.
"It is important to remember things, so you can correct mistakes next time. You never know when you might be playing against the same team again.
"I will be using them again, for sure and probably making some fresh ones.
i love it
