    Undoubtedly Britain's best pundit, always with concise football knowledge and in no way what so ever biased towards english clubs.

    Here's an extract from an article from before the Milan game:

    "Forget the two away goals. With one swing of Wayne Rooney's boot on Tuesday night the whole mindset of the tie changed in an instant. The pressure has been heaped on Milan, and I believe that Milan side is ordinary.

    Not only will United get a result in Italy next week, they will beat Milan in their own backyard. I think they've got the Italians running scared - they're not a great team and they know it.

    Sure, Kaka is brilliant but go through the team - the keeper is dodgy and the back four is creaking and should hold no fear for United's forwards. Anything else to be scared of? Pirlo? No. Seedorf? No. Ambrosini? No. Gilardino? Definitely not.

    I believe we'll have an all-English final. The only question is whether Chelsea or Liverpool will be involved. "

    ===============================================
    The thing is, why did he set himself up for such a fall. It's one thing to predict that man utd will win but to then predict that the most consitent team in the champions league will be blown away is just rediculous...
    I guess one positive is he isn't afraid to voice an opinion.

    We were talking about this before the game in the match thread.

    Really is an idiot. He should of factored not only our poor away form but how good Milan is as well.

    That's about as much as you can say for a bloke with tourettes syndrome not just restricted to his bullshit commentary, but also his typing.

    The level of punditry provided over here is shocking. Truly shocking.

    Yeah. I've seen some Youtube highlights sometimes with post-match Sky analysis, or streams with Sky commentary, and it's shocking what some of the experts say about non-English leagues.

    Best Andy Gray line ever though has to be last year's "Benfica would get relegated in the Premiership" before their tie against Liverpool.

    That was their game against United, not us. They had a bit more respect before they played us.

    Gullit and Merson should be shot in the face. I fucking hate that giggling tubby alcoholic wanker and hope he dies a very painful public death. Preferably from spontaenous combustion as Gerrard lifts the trophy for a second time in Athens Wink

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guillem_Balague

    "Possibly Balague’s most admirable quality is his relentless determination to be considered the UK’s premiere story breaker and ‘man with the inside track’ on all aspects of Spanish football. The ambition is somewhat undermined by a considerably long history of misleadings and flawed predictions on unravelling stories from within the La Liga scene. This is particularly the case with transfer stories, for which the Spanish press is renowned for being obsessed. Balague has often made fanciful predictions about players leaving Spanish football for the Premiership, only for the proposed moves to fail to even approach the point of taking place."..."Because of this and several other similar cases of erroneous forecasting – Balague’s ‘exclusives’ are now considered no more insightful than any of the resident English journalists."

    I think he's awful.

    There is a clear trinity which exists in the world of punditry, each aspect of which exudes an air of near-divinity. The Neckless One, known to mere mortals as Townsend,
    Andy Gray Andy_townsend_itv_world_cup

    Then, to his left, he who ontologists throughout all history have failed to describe in words to match his glory; Carlton Palmer;
    Andy Gray Carlton_palmer2_lead_203x152

    And then, the godhead, Garth Crooks, the Beluga Caviar of the punditry game; small, black and round.

    I think you have to take the comments into context.

    He is delivering commentary to an English audience, hes hardly going to 'sell' the game to the english viewers by suggesting Utd will lose.

    Besides after the 3-2 win at Old Trafford, Utd had every right to be optimistic, nobody can predict a game, and Man Utd didn't step up to the challenge.

    i think all the Milan players played a very good game, and that unity took them through in my opinion.

    They're totally clueless regarding the strengths and weaknesses of teams outside the EPL, AND they're completely lost regarding how good any English team really is.

    It's a tough call to choose who's the worst among Andy Gray, Motson, Le Tissier, Ray Wilkins, Tyneslay (WTF his name is! Biggrin ). I sincerely pity you mes amis for having to listen to this group of fuckos week in and week out during football season.

    Pierre, LRD, Obispo, Parky, TS, Kimbo etc. etc know more football than all them fuckos! lol! <Ale>

    I've never heard Sansom as pundit. I did see him play in Euro '88 the one Holland won, and if my memory serves me right Sansom was a fucking disaster in the one match I saw him play. Never looked like a professional player in my humble opinion. I think Ireland beat England because of his defending. I may be wrong though (as in wrong player). Embarassed <Ale>

    Majority of their viewers are English .. as FG said.

    I cant believe nobody has mentioned Lee Dixon .. and his triangles ...

    plus, there are some decent ones like Gavin Peacock (BBC) and James Richardson.

    also Tim Caple (of Eurosport) .. must be the most knowledgeable pundit/commentator on English TV , in terms of European Football .. must watch all the leagues and do his research .. this season hes criticism of Feyenoord , just love it

    Hansen = Legend.

    Fair play to Alan ;

    Probably when I said "You'll never win anything with kids" about Man United in 1995-96, and they went on to win the double. I should have said "They'll never win everything with kids."
