Watched the last half hour this morning while getting ready. What struck me was Rijkaard, he just sat in his chair all most head in his hands, given up. Even when it was 2-0. scratch

Surely that's not a good sign for the players?

absolutely hilarious did a ronnie pass actually find a barca player all night. arrogant barca thought it was already in the bag. and

as for frank well he lost most of the brain power when ten cate left last summer so now he is clueless hence their massive dip in form since.

That's probably due to him smoking herb, maybe Ten Cate controlled how much weed he smoked rather than the football related stuff?

ok, top 6. but they aren't exactly assured of it.

Getafe could still easily make the top 6 themselves. I think they are only 1 point behind Atlético.

the most worrying aspect of barca's performance was rikkard sat expressionless and motionless on the touchline as spank has already said. he simply didn't have a clue what to do about it. I guess closing a game down just isn't an option for this barca team Wink

We can't close down with players who don't defend (Ronnie), players who can't (Edmilson) and defenders who are rubbish at it (Oleguer and our full-backs) .

come to think of it, not sure now. If Sevilla win the cup and finish 5th, will the cup final losers or the 7th placed team be in the UEFA?

the Catalan sports dailies are talking about the end of the cycle and the need for a complete renovation starting with the coach, who gave signs of complete helplessness.

He is not brilliant but I don't want somebody like Schuster who cannot handle "stars".. Big egos need psycologists rather than managers. All we need is to replace Neeskens with somebody with tactical sense and a bit of discipline..

Frank is the shrink.. It worked before so why shouldn't it work again..

There is a reason why the players who don't even play still want to stay (and we don't pay much compared to other clubs).

    we lost last night.

like against Sevilla in the European Super Cup
like against RM in the league
like against Chelsea in the CL
like against Porto Alegre in the World Club championships
like against Valencia in the league
like against Sevilla in the league
like against Liverpool in the CL

I know it's not the end of the world, but as far as football goes, it doesn't get much clearer than that. We haven't managed to win any important matches, except perhaps for the home game against Werder in the CL.

the problem with RM was not that too many changes were made, but that not enough were made. They stuck with the galacticos for 3 more years en blanco.

It all comes down to the preseason, Ten Cate, injuries and the World Cup..

I am 100% sure that we will do much better next year, if we don't bloody panic and end up with a squad of Tonis, Henrys and whomever else we can try to poach on the market...

i think people should calm down. a great result for getafe but not the end of the world by far. i have not rated rijkaard but he could get results but he needed for others to compensate for his lacks. this season barca has heartless and not motivated which is supposed to be rijkaards skill. sure barca had bad presseason but i think that is a bad excuse for them being so heartless for alot of the season. i just couldnt picture chelsea being so heartless.
so either rijkaard gets fired which wouldnt be the worst since some change/new ideas aint the worst that can happen to a club or rijkaard changes something. it could be players or tactics but i think he has to change something because few teams can keep with the same style for 3 years. For example Real changed zizou from centre midfield to left midfield and it helped us play even better.

Yeah this season has been a unique combination of lots of problems. Let's win the next 5 games, ban all the South Americans from playing in the Copa America, and send everyone on a long holiday. Then hope that Txiki makes the right decisions in the summer and we end up with a good solid squad of hungry players, but still have all the cracks.
