    ok

I think Liverpool will be investing in a quality striker this Summer, I am just unsure they will spend that much on one. Man Utd have got plenty of money, but I read yesterday that Bayern have put up the Owen Hargreaves price again! Man Utd will be making some squad signings I think with a new striker and winger top of the list. But Eto'o would be an amazing signing for Man Utd.

    Arsenal can't have him.

People are talking striker and winger for manu but I don't see scholes lasting the whole of next season in midfield. He has been good this season but had half a season off before. Also he has been getting slower and hacking down more players than usual. Also giggs has been helping out in midfield, and even starting there when schoels has been out, but is pretty much knackered now. So I see the central midfield position as an absolute necessity and probably where manu will spend the most money.

For the Premieship - A good back up for Giggs and new striker is needed.

In the Champions League - i think a players like Hargreaves will make a real difference.

We just need a better alternative than Fletcher, so we can rest Carrick and Scholes when needed. Giggs is the one who needs replacing, however playing as a winger at his age is bound to be harder.

Exactly. Carrick and Scholes will get the better of probably every midfield in the league bar Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea.

Next season, the same as this season, you will see Giggs play LM, LCM, AMC, FW.

This season Giggs has been better than Scholes when playing behind lone striker.

I don't buy into the Eto'o situation. I think he will be a Barca player next season, and for some time to come. I'd also think Villa will stay at Valencia, he is clearly enjoying his football there, and they are developing into a great team, and if they manage to hold on their players, there is no reason why they can't be League/CL challengers.

How good is this Alfonso Alvez?

Yo LRD! you'd better get Claudio Pizarro. Last season I told you to tell your Mancs to get Hargreaves, and he would've given your Mancs a much better chance against Milan. Yes, Carrick's alright for EPL, but you need Hargreaves' type of midfielder to have a chance against the elite teams.

I may be biased, but I think Pizarro is a perfect fit for your Mancs. He's strong enough to win them air balls, PLUS he can hold the ball and make Rooney much more involved in the offense. Rooney's a talented kid who will learn lots from playing with someone who KNOWS how to play the game.

Last season it was Hargreaves for you all the way, and this season I believe it's Pizarro for your Mancs. A perfect match. <Ale>

Laughing One game where Hargreaves would have been better yep. But against Roma look what Carrick did, would Hargreaves ever have a game like that i don't think so. Definitly both of them was the idea, but if it had to be one i think Carrick is the better one for a team that is very attacking like us.

Pizarro is a decent player, but i think we can get a better striker than him.
If we cannot get Etoo or Berbatov, then we may have to settle for someone like Pizarro just to have around incase Saha breaks down again Biggrin

Only one I'd want in that list is Eto'o.

I was unimpressed with Villa when we played Valencia. Terry had him in his pocket for 2 entire games ok

If we signed Eto'o, we'd pretty much be able to play 2 different teams:

    Team A:

    -----------Cech------------
    RB--Carvalho--Terry--A Cole
    --------Mikel--Essien--------
    J Cole----------------Robben
    --------Drogba--Eto'o-------

    Team B:

    ----------------Cudicini-----------
    Ferreira--Boulahrouz--Terry--Bridge
    ----------------Makelele----------
    -----------Lampard--Ballack-------
    SWP-------------------------Kalou
    --------------Shevchenko---------

However, would Drogba and Eto'o work well together, or would they both be too selfish? scratch

Isn't it about time you promoted Michael Mancienne to the first team S4P? I have heard good things about him when he plays at England youth level.

Micah Richards is hugely overrated IMO. He has potential but he's not good enough technically to be a right back and when he plays centrally he lacks poise, anticipation, positioing - basically anythnig that isn't physical that makes a decent centre back. His only saving grace is his strength and determination

Did consider Mancienne, but in truth, I'm not sure if he's gonna be here or not next season which is why I left him out.

As for Richards, he's big and strong (which Jose appears to like in a player), but I'm not sure how well he'd do in the CL. I'd prefer either Miguel or Alves. They'd both be cheaper too. ok
