Having seen seen Silva play about 5 times this season. He looks an incredibly talented player. What's his best/favoured position though? I've seen him play AM/LW/SS...

Emerson to Milan? What do Real fans think?
Emerson close to Milan
Thursday 24 May, 2007
Real Madrid midfielder Emerson is being linked with a move to Milan after reportedly reaching an agreement with the European champions.
The Brazilian left Juventus last summer after the club’s demotion to Serie B, but hasn’t enjoyed his new life in La Liga and is allegedly ready to head back to the peninsula.
According to Spanish newspaper Sport, Milan have already finalised a deal with El Puma, who would join the San Siro outfit in the summer.
The player had already been paired with Milan in the past few months after Rossoneri Coach Carlo Ancelotti made it clear that he would be more than happy to have the 32-year-old at his disposal.
The former Roma star has been heckled by fans at the Santiago Bernabeu and reportedly informed Los Blancos of his desire to leave two months ago, after speaking to chief Ramon Calderon.
Emerson’s market value has seemingly dropped since his move to the Merengues, but the Rossoneri are allegedly ready to invest £7m plus striker Ricardo Oliveira, who currently earns £4.2m a season.
Milan will earn approximately £48m thanks to their win in the Champions League Final against Liverpool and have decided to invest the money in the transfer market.
The club’s wish list is also reported to include Andriy Shevchenko of Chelsea as well as Barcelona duo Samuel Eto’o and Gianluca Zambrotta, although all three have denied they will be changing clubs this summer.

im not sure. he has prob been the most hated player in Real for last many many years so i could understand if he wanted to leave. i think gago is better then him but i would be fine with him as a reserve for diarra or even take his place if he performs. i really dont think milan are dumb enough to invest in a player like emerson. i mean where is he going to fit in unless they want him as a back up.Forza Italia!Forza Milan! wrote:Emerson to Milan? RONALDINHO: ‘It was heroic and glorious’
5/25/2007
MILAN – Praise is arriving from across the world for Milan European Champions. Like from Ronaldinho for example, who had this to say to Studio Sport: ‘Congratulations to Milan, they did something heroic and glorious in the Champions League. I have Barcelona in my head now, then we’ll see what happens at the end of the season. I am proud that Silvio Berlusconi admires me.’

Just remember he also said that he was very happy in Barcelona and doesn't see any reason to leave.. but if you have €150 mill then you are welcome to bid...
that quote from Dinho is pretty much the result of a question: "The Milan president has said that you are the dream signing and now that AC Milan are the new CL champions what are your thoughts on Berlusconi's declaration?"

Ancelotti: Bring me Barca stars
Saturday 26 May, 2007
Carlo Ancelotti is already looking to next season and his wish list includes Ronaldinho, Samuel Eto’o and Philippe Mexes.
“I think that to remain at the top of European football, this side needs a few additions,” said the Coach who took Milan to their seventh Champions League trophy this week.
“If we are to sign players, then you may as well make it a real world class figure. Ronaldinho and Eto’o fit the bill and right now Eto’o is perhaps the best striker in circulation, but I shall say no more on the matter.”
The Barcelona and Cameroon star had already been a target last summer following Andriy Shevchenko’s departure, but seems set to leave La Liga at the end of this season, although Inter are also interested in his services.
“Next year we will certainly be competing in the European Super Cup, the Intercontinental Cup, the Champions League, Serie A and Coppa Italia, so it will be even more important to have players of quality.”
Pippo Inzaghi scored a brace in the 2-1 Final win over Liverpool and from next term Ronaldo will be available for Champions League duty, so where does this leave Alberto Gilardino?
“He is very happy at Milan,” assured Ancelotti. “His season has had ups and downs with a good number of goals scored.”
The question of the ageing defence still needs to be addressed, especially with Kakha Kaladze ready for a Premiership move as he is tired of sitting on the bench.
“Mexes? He is one of the strongest central defenders on the transfer market,” added the Coach when asked about the Roma star.
The days after the Rossoneri’s Champions League heroics have been dominated by controversy over a banner insulting Inter that appeared in Massimo Ambrosini’s hand on the open-top bus.
“I think Ambrosini made a mistake and he understood that, so he apologised. That has to be the end of the matter.”
Milan were cross with their ‘cugini’ after President Massimo Moratti, Coach Roberto Mancini and captain Javier Zanetti repeatedly stated they hoped the San Siro giants would lose the Final in Athens.
“Inter have the right to celebrate their Scudetto because they deserved it, but the same goes for Milan and the Champions League. Everyone makes fun of their rivals, it is part of football and totally normal.”
The season isn’t over yet, as Milan travel to the Stadio Granillo to face a Reggina side battling to stay in Serie A.
“We must try to send out a competitive squad that can give a dignified performance so that we do not unfairly tip the relegation battle in anyone’s favour,” noted the tactician after last night’s party at San Siro.
“Ambrosini picked up a knock, while Paolo Maldini, Inzaghi and Kaka also have a few problems. We’re also without Ronaldo and the suspended Ricardo Oliveira and Yoann Gourcuff.”
Gilardino is expected to start upfront alongside former Reggina youngster Marco Borriello.
Meanwhile, Maldini will extend his career for another season by going under the knife for a recurring knee problem.
“Paolo always makes his own decisions,” said his father, Cesare. “On Tuesday morning he’ll fly to Belgium for surgery and will return to the field at Milanello in two months.”

Maldini should retire IMO. If I was Ancelotti I'd be looking for a new GK, LB, CM, AM and possibly a striker, though with Ronaldo & one of Giladino, Olivera, Borriello I don't see that a SS is as important as those other positions.
Janko, Maldini, Ambrosini & Seedorf all need replacing IMO. Perhaps Bonera could do a job however. Milan should go for Alex.

Honestly, I would make five signings:
Buffon, Zambrotta, Alex (I agree with you), Toni, Eto'o.
I would get rid of Dida, Kaladze, Oliveira, Borriello, and Simic. I quite like Janku, Ambro and Seedorf. They have been instrumental to our triumph. I know Maldini is old, but he is our legend. And he has played fairly well this year.
We need to get rid of some deadwood, but you were suggesting getting rid of very good players--that's something only Inter do.
Ancelotti considers the following indispensable: Nesta, Maldini, Oddo, Ambro, Gattuso, Pirlo, Seedorf, Kaka, Inzaghi, Gila, and Ronaldo.

Thing is, he isn't guaranteed a starting position for Chelsea, and both Terry & Carvalho are top class, performing well and still have a few years ahead of them. An offer from another top club with first team football might just tempt him. I don't suppose he's that desperate to play for Chelsea. Alex could slot in alongside Nesta, and Bonera in a couple of years can take Nesta's spot. Nesta will almost certainly pick up an injury anyway.

It is pretty well known that:Murray wrote:Alex is supposedly going to Chelsea for 50p.
1) he doesn't want to go to Chelsea to warm the bench (he knows that's what going to happen if goes there)
2) he loves PSV
I wouldn't mind see him leaving, but only he goes on to be a starter. A waste of pure talent if goes to sit on anyones bench. People like Terry and both him and Carvalho deserve their places at Chelsea, but Alex is simply better than both.
There I said it.
