I've never actually seen a "shot" travel slower, any half decent keeper would have sidestepped twice and plucked it out of the air without even jumping - free kicks that tame should never beat a half decent keeper let alone the England number 1

I use the term in bold about Robbo loosely though.

Yes of course...his free kick which was placed straight into the top corner with so much direction and curl...it should've been saved by anyone but Robinson

Re: Goal of the season
It didn't go anywhere near the corner of the net. At least three feet away from the corner from what I remember. The difficulty in saving it was partly the dip on the ball, it just squeezed underneath the bar.

It was going towards the corner and then dipped just underneath the bar...asif that's saveable FFS...
Take away credit from Tevez and blame it on Robinson

Re: Goal of the season
I think it was saveable, but not necessarily a shot that you would expect a goalkeeper to save. Robinson wasn't in a great position but it is a little harsh to blame him for the goal and he didn't make a major error in conceding it. I'm not trying to take anything away from Tevez, it was a fine freekick, just from what I remembered of it I didn't think it went in the corner. As I said, the fact that it dipped and swerved just under the bar is what made it hard to save, particularly for a goalkeeper who started just off his line.

Bias I know, but if you're talking about pure technique, all these Chelsea goals are better than Essien's:

Couldn't find it.
Nor could I find Shevchenko v Sheff Utd
(Admittedly I didn't look too hard )

Look at the video! the Free kick was pretty much down the middle!
A shot that dips just under the bar but with no real pace should not trouble a decent keeper.

Taylor's goal has my vote. It's a goal a player does once in his career.

Alonso. But Taylor's goal is not about the range, it's about taking the ball on the half-volley with no thinking time.

RVP has to jump 10 yards in the air; Henry runs around the entire Blackburn team. All Taylor does is give it a speculative punt.

If I remember right - he didn't even beat a single player. 3-4 defenders backed of him for 60 yards and then stood gormlessly still as he played a 1-2 with Fabregas.
Good goal, but the defending was absolutely dire. I'm noticing an element of a goal being rated higher than it should be because of who scored it, rather than the goal itself.

You obviously didn't see Mahon's v Pompey then? - weak foot, on the half-volley into the top corner past David James.
