btw, Bluenine, you haven't updated Barça's one: Giuly left and Maxi is actually training with us at present, even if it seems absolutely certain he is leaving.

and btw2: what's happening with Pato now?

Dunno how I missed Guily, had updated him at Roma Doh

Maxi is surely leaving so thats fine, just like Recoba for Inter.

Pato, no news... looks like Milan have cooled off, latest rumour I heard linked him with Napoli, which sounded very unlikely.

i dont want him. we are already stacked in this area and then it doesnt matter how talented he is. if we were going to spend 25 mil on a striker it should have been tevez.

Does the £10m price for Chivu include bonuses? If so what is the price that has to be paid without them? If not, why did Moratti up his offer? Has Chivu reduced his wage demands?

Apparently Chivu reduced his wages by a million euro's per annum to help Inter to increase their bid. Ironically, now Chivu gets the same salary what Real had offered him in first place Laughing

Anyways all this is not officially confirmed, even tho many sites have reported it, and his gf has mentioned this on TV (she is a presenter).

If this chivu thing gets confirmed, Inter probably have the best defensive squad in europe:

    "The Matrix" Materazzi
    "Cafe Columbia" Cordoba
"Il Capitano / Il Trattore / Pupi" Zanetti
    "Michael Douglas" Maicon
    "Tyson" Rivas
    "The Wall" Samuel
    "Nico / Batman" Burdisso
    "Ali" Maxwell
    "Andre the Giant" Andreolli

    and now:

    "The Phantom" Chivu ok

Even if we let Samuel go, its a great squad of capable and talented defenders!

BN, do you think Chivu will play at LB?

If thats not the case, then i think Inter would have been better off spending money elsewhere. Inter have so many good CB's and strikers but are lacking in other areas.

    "The Wall" Samuel
    "Nico / Batman" Burdisso
    "Ali" Maxwell
    "Andre the Giant" Andreolli

    and now:

    "The Phantom" Chivu ok

Even if we let Samuel go, its a great squad of capable and talented defenders!

I think Mancio is going to rotate between Maxwell and Chivu at LB, depending on how defensive he wants to be in a game... but most of the time, I expect Chivu to play CB....

    lacking in what other areas??

If thats not the case, then i think Inter would have been better off spending money elsewhere. Inter have so many good CB's and strikers but are lacking in other areas.

Well CM for one. You only have Cambiasso, Vieira and Dacourt. I thought you would buy big for the RW position aswell. Jimenez is talented, but we've seen so many players like him go to Inter and end up being ery dissapoiniting or warming the bench. If Chivu is going to be playing CB then you only really have Maxwell for the LB spot.

Shock horror, they only have 3 internationals in their prime for central midfield. And just 5 strikers for 2 positions. And only 10 defenders, again mostly internationals and potential starters. Inter already has a very big squad that is well covered in all positions Doh

I'd say Vieira and Dacourt are past their prime.

Go look what happened against Valencia, they had no cover for in CM for these guys and ended up going out.

I believe they have 6 strikers for 2 positions, thats why buying Suazo made no sense.

They had Burdisso, Materazzi, Samuel, Cordoba and Rivas for CB who are all top defenders and would all probably be starting at any other Serie A team. Then they go and spend 10m on Chivu. Wheres the sense in that? Unless of course they play him at left back, but then they still wouldve been better off buying a specialist LB.

And what about RW? I thought they were going to buy Messi or Quaresma but instead they buy the unproven Jiminez. Looks like Zanetti will be having another busy year. He deserves more of a rest at his age.

I haven't watched Inter much, so that's why I'm assuming Vieira, Dacourt, etc. are still good players. Fair enough. I agree though that they have a ridiculous overcrowding in central defense and attack.

But how could you even think they would buy Messi? Shocked
Messi is the least sellable member of Barcelona's squad - him, Iniesta, and Puyol (and maybe Xavi) are probably the only players that will not be sold for *any* sum of money.
