Brave words, there's going to be about 10 teams thinking they have a good chance of finishing near the waffa cup spots. Some will have to fail. ok

Tbh, at this moment, I can only see 5 teams finishing above us (Big 4 + Spurs) and we're on par with Newcastle. But there is a whole Summer to go yet so no doubting that things will change. Its gonna be some good competition but I think we'll be ok, judging by the end to the season we had. Performances were good, just gotta get the results to go with them.

Regards Gabby, total agreement, nowhere near the finished article. However, he did great at the end of the season when he was moved up front. The potential is there. Besides, he might start with Moore instead, probably our most natural goalscorer at the club.

i'm pretty certain we will bring in a striker too. if carew gets injured we only have moore/gabby plus maloney or young could play there. really need another relatively experienced option. we've had enough links with bellamy, defoe etc. to suggest o'neill's looking for a striker.

I suppose the difference is Villa could never attract Bodmer.

Most probably but its a strange world, and if apparently they're in for Sneijder, then Bodmer's worth a shot. Money goes a long way...

    True say Ale

Bodmer wants Champions League football where the team might actually have a chance of competing and he'll get it Lyon, won't get it at Villa for a couple of seasons yet..... Wink
