Wich player positions do your team need ?

For each position you selected, please add the name of the player that your club could recruit.

What is a Polyvalent midfielder? And a libero?

Depends on certain players we keep, I'd say:

Left Back: Nicky Shorey
Right Winger: Shaun Wright-Phillips
"Non Defensive Midfielder": Tim Cahill
Striker: Jermain Defoe

Werder Bremen:

Right wing / attacking allrounder: Carlos Alberto (BRA)

Defensive midfielder (if Andreasen leaves): Alou Diarra (FR) / Rio Mavuba (FR) / Mr. X

Striker (if Klose leaves): Ezequiel Lavezzi (ARG) / Mauro Zaráte (ARG) / Lukas Podolski (GER) / Mr. X


Already signed:

2nd goalkeeper: Nico Pellatz (GER)

Libero = Beckenbauer

Libero = Beckenbauer or Baresi position, depending on how it is interpreted.

Not really common in modern football though.

Defensive Midfielder: Haven't the foggiest, the only names we've been linked to are Nenad Kovacevic and Derek Boateng.

Barcelona:

- One fullback - either left or right. Since Abidal looks like the most likely deal, it's him

- A powerful DM but who can also have the quality to pass and fit in with the rest. Very tough position, and I don't have a clue who we can/should sign.

- A high quality attacking player, preferably someone who can play in two positions up front. Henry, Robben, etc.

- A CB to partner Puyol or rotate with Marquez if necessary. Chivu, Andrade, etc.

Good defensive midfielders seem to be quite rare these days, and a lot of clubs seem to be looking for them. Increases the prices considerably unfortunately.

Oh yeah i forgot to add Diego on my list, would cost about 10M euros

Relax Target Man. If he leaves us, he most probably will end up in Real anyway, because his buddy Robinho is playing there. Give him time, he is not ready for Real yet.

well there were rumors that diarra would be sold to inter. i dont care too much if he stays or goes. if he goes we can get fernandes who can do the same job and something offensively.
otherwise we need to find out whether we will replace becks with another winger(quaresma/robben) or go for a playmaker(kaka/diego). otherwise i dont think there is anything left to do since soldado is good enough as a back up. and torres can handle left back for us so it really is only right wing/playmaker and a replacment for either emerson or diarra.

Kaka is no playmaker, Diego is.

What I don't get is: If Capello stays, and it looks like he will, you'll play a double pivot 4-4-2 system. In such a system, Diego would be wasted. A double pivot 4-4-2 does not need a classical playmaker, it needs flexible and creative wing players who do the job, who cut in often and don't strictly stay wide.

In your system, Kaka could play second striker quite effectively. Diego however would be wasted.

i see kaka as a playmaker allthough he is more direct in his style so i can see if people wouldnt see him as one. diego is a typical playmaker.
and capello changes the setup so sometimes it is 4-4-2 or 4-2-3-1. also we played with the double pivot with makelele-cambiaso and zidane and figo on the wings so it is possible to have diego play this allthough he prob wont near the same freedom that zidane got.
