@Juande...yeah next season should be good. Both of us will spend more, both should have players back from injury and fully fit sides. I expect decent seasons from both.

@TS...I would indeed for two reasons
1)You are in the UEFA Cup (a trophy too)
2)Your games were very entertaining due to the high level of goals scored and conceded.

I'm still happy to finish in the top half and above you, considering the inury problems we'e had.

You lot hoping to win the League and us hoping to break the Top 4 is similer. Both seemingly a very hard task....(Although atleast we have come close to breaking into the Top 4)....

I wasn't hoping at the start of the season that we will finish above West Ham. More like a top 5 finish...

It wasn't about you having us to finish 9th...it was your dig about us being average clubs who think we are better than what we are. The 3 teams who finished 10th, 11th and 12th can all do better with fully fit sides, and have probably underachieved this season.

here's a lovely stat: in the past 10 years, 6th place in the league has given direct European qualification all but 4 times. who finished 6th each of these times? Take a guess

We finished 5th in 99/00 and had to go through the Intertoto cup. We also finished 3rd in 85/86 and would have been in the, what is now the Champions League...had Liverpool fans behaved themselves.

Exactly...we have the bragging rights for that...while you won the Carling Cup. Both of us have the potential to do so much better though. Blackburn, Villa, Man City and Portsmouth are not that really in a different category to us two and Newcastle who finished 10th, 11th and 12th. If these teams had finished in a different order...no one would be surprised.

Maybe I'm wrong then...all I know is we were stopped qualifying for (maybe the UEFA Cup) which back then was a very big trophy. The reason being...Liverpool had got all English teams banned for 5 years.

No question that this season was truly hard to break into Europe. Many teams have improved their squad, alot of money been spent. We've spent alot, but it was our inabilty to be consistent was the key. We've actually played better performance wise against the big 4, but still languished in mid-table. I think the key was, the likes of Villa, Everton etc, pushed the bar up in terms of consistancy, whilst we were still finding our feet, due to enourmous pressure at the start for Jol...

Now the transfer window is open...they start about us having no money, all our players for sale...blah blah. I couldn't give a shit what the papers are saying...

Wasn't it your own chairman (or someone from the board) who hinted that the club would listen to offers for any player? Add in the fact that your owner has been severely hit by the financial crisis in Iceland, and I don't think the papers are too far out with their reports.
