Agree. He will fit in Pulisball and should be a good partner for Berahino... unless they will start fighting over penaltieschristmasborocooper wrote:Lambert to the baggies was a good bit of business for them. Pretty cheap.
Anichebe actually as a sub is quite decent, just not sure what Pulis will do with Brown Ideye.
Apparently Pulis wants one more defender and one winger, if they would get someone like Matt Philips it would make a good transfer windowr for them.

Well the myth is that Spurs are a club who are capable of splashing out on new players - the reality is we have to unload players first to balance the books which is what has happened this window. Even more so now the stadium build is in full swing.
Successfully trimmed the deadwood from the squad - something Pochettino was adamant needed to happen so he has a smaller and more focussed group to coach. Whether this strategy leaves us enough time to bring in a couple of reinforcements will remain to be seen. Upgrading the defence was key, Alderweireld a crucial signing, as was Trippier IMO (no real competition for Walker last season created complacency, as well as left Dier playing out of position). Now we need a DM and forward. Shame we didn't go in for Clasie, but there are rumours Poch believes Dier can transition into that DM this season. He played there at Sporting Lisbon. My concern is whilst Poch showing faith in the youngsters is admirable, we clearly need some experienced players - like a Cabaye for example who would've been a perfect signing - as our squad is currently so reliant on youth.
News today is we are in negotiations with Dynamo Kiev for Andrey Yarmolenko. According to Yarmolenko himself. One of Pierre's wank towels. On the one hand he has plenty of European and International experience, on the other hand Ukrainians have a terrible record in England (Rebrov, Luszny, Shevchenko, voronin). We also have a delegation in Germany apparently trying to sign Sven Bender or Christoph Kramer.
At this point if we could sign Berahino and Sissoko (from Newcastel) who are also 2 players we've been linked with that'd represent an intelligent window. Unfortunately there is no chance West Brom and Newcastle will fail to over value those two considerably.

Sold Dimaria to PSG...only a loss of 12 milion...which is okay considering I though we would never be able to sell him.

I've just finished watching Bayern - Wolfsburg.
I know he was very expensive, but still I am quite surprised that no English teams had tried to get Douglas Costa. Despite being from Brazil he plays like old fashioned Brittish winger and he's actually very good. Have no idea how he will survive under Guardiola long term.

Re: Todays Transfer Rumours
wickham is well over priced but has time to improve - they did need a striker though.
Gayle is good but can't play CF in a 4-3-3 or 4-5-1 and I'm not sure Bamford will be good enough.
He was great at converting through balls/cut backs at 'boro when they were on top but could offer nothing in key games like Watford away and Nowich at Wembley.
Tidy player but lacks oomph and contributes nothing when not scoring.
Championship is about Deeney, Jerome, Murphy, Gestede - not 1980's poachers like Bamford, Le Fondre and Rhodes so massive lolz if 'boro pay big money for Rhodes.
Gestede is nthing fancy but as good in the air as any CF playing in England so could work if Villa play a crossing game.
Di Maria is a flop but spent too much time playing in the middle third rather than the final third and is a world class player.
I would have thought Iarmolenko's destroying of Baines/Everton last season would have won over some doubters and it would be great to have in the EPL entertainment wise though Konaplyanka is perhaps the signing of the summer on a free and sham he didn't come to EPL.
Expect another hugely disappointing season in Europe for English sides - the home grown quota was a great idea, its worked wonders in Russia and China and having 70 English players in a 6/10 league is obviously much better than having 35 in a 9/10 league
Fey - what is Berghuis like, apart from having the obligatory shit, over-gelled haircut favoured by modern day dutch lads that no one over here would be seen dead in post '91 ?

Also, im so sad Watford bought Jurado rather then Immers. Immers is the ultimate Epl footballer.

Re: Todays Transfer Rumours
New contracts signed by James McCarthy and Kevin Mirallas should put to bed rumours about them leaving Everton... at least during current transfer window.
Wondering about clauses in the latter contract though, wouldn't be surprised with a low release clause or something like this.

Re: Todays Transfer Rumours
Salomon Rondon officially in WBA, 12m pounds is reported price. I would gladly take Brown Ideye on loan to Goodison Park if it would be possible. Not sure how Rondon will do in Pulis-ball, but he is a high quality striker.
Xherdan Shaqiri very close to finalize his transfer to Stoke City. He agreed to move there after all, price is also 12m pounds. Should do great for Stoke. Of course Everton wanted him too... but we only offered to loan him from Inter

So who is he then? Definitely not a wide midfielder.Kimbo wrote:Good player if you recognise he's not a proper CM, and definitely not a DM.

His best form for us came as a RM(but tucked in, not a winger) in a 4-4-2, with Danny Simpson making overlapping runs. His biggest strength is his crossing and long passing, but he needs space to do it, because he's an aggressive tackler people think that's what he's good at, that's just something that can come in useful if you're outnumbered in midfield. Our main attack at the time was basically Barton crossing it for Carroll and Nolan. I think he's been misunderstood as a player most of his career.
I see a similar case with Sissoko now, so many people want him to play at DM or CM because that's where FM says he should play, and because he's a big athletic guy, but if you're going to get the best out of him he needs to be in a position that gives him more space, and he also doesn't really have the close technical skills for congested area's. Managers seem to understand this though, Deschamps plays him wide, McClaren has said that's where he will play, and even Pardew played him there.

Difficult to say. Probably though WBA would be going for a different forward to Rondon if Berahino would be leaving. He seems more as a replacement to Ideye.Luis wrote:Joey Barton is stealing a living now. Belongs in the championship.

Remember that they are managed by Sam Allardyce's more backward cousin these days. Pulis is a football terrorist, if they lose Berahino he will be sitting around looking at stats to try and find a young Peter Crouch. POMO is everything.

Shaqiri officially signed by Stoke.
Will he deliver? Or maybe he will repeat one Andy van der Meyde (also brought from Inter years ago after having been told to get lost) lack of success at Everton?

Enrique is a disgrace. Him and Borini just won't take the hint - we don't want them any more ffs.
Our left back options are shocking though - hoping we can sign one before the window shuts.
