His contract expires in the next month and the vast majority of the Palmeiras fans are glad to see him leaving. He has good vision, criativity and passing, but he is too inconsistent.

Neymar got a red after the game? The f**k you do that....oh well read that he would be suspended anyway. Him and Colombia are not a good duo.

Neymar misses two matches. And how overrated is that crybaby pussy Thiago Silva? Give me Godin or even Pique any day of the week.

Did Guerrero - who got 'stamped' (and by stamped = softly treaded on) to earn Venezuela a red card - survive his horrific injuries? The way he rolled around on the floor and pointed at the vague red marking on his thigh suggested he was teetering on near death

Well tbh, perhaps that wasnt a red, but later in that game a few Vuvuzela's went mental by elbowing Inca's in the face. And only get a yellow for it.

That was a red in Chile and even in the lands of satan. The venecos lost their cool early in the match. It was as if they had seen inevitability (yet another loss against Perú) and seeing how we were passing them to death they tried to soften us up with elbows, stamps, kicks...
I liked how we never lost our cool, we had a clear plan to get the three points. The plan was to keep passing and passing until they break down and they did around the 70th minute. It was a very smart move to just puro toque the venecos until they tired - we were saving the energy for the last group match against Colombia which was going to be the deciding match either way.
We saved Farfán for the Colombia game so he'll be raring to go on Sunday. IF we make it to the KO stages, then anything can happen. Absolutely no team will want to play against us.

Bolivia may be the weakest team in the quarterfinals, but they're not the best match-up for us. I would've preferred Paraguay, Uruguay, and most definitely Chile.
I'm thinking about writing a preview of the quarterfinals, but it seems there's not enough interest in Copa América for some reason.

I would be interested. Just can't watch many games because of kick off times. Forum is dying too.

Re: Copa America 2015
Chile vs. Uruguay
The Chileans were hoping to get Paraguay. Uruguay are confident and ready to play Chile. This game promises to be very physical and well-fought all over the pitch.
Bolivia vs. Perú
It's not an easy game for us because we are the World Cup Final for Bolivia (Ecuador also sees us as their WC Final) and thus expect the Bolivians to block our shots with their face if they have to. Often times we do not match their intensity and suffer. We MUST match Bolivia's fury and be intelligent enough to advance to semifinal.
Argentina vs. Colombia
If the Argies are naïve and lose their concentration, they may get caught with Colombian counter-attacks just like the Germans sat back and counter the shite out of Argentina. The Argies probably saw both Venezuela's and Perú's blueprint how to neutralize the Colombian counter attack.
Brasil vs. Paraguay
Brasil may be a better team WITHOUT Neymar, but they will need Neymar to breach Paraguay's defense. It's a tough game for Brasil.

I don't get why Columbia are still playing Falcao. If he was a horse, they would take him outside and shoot him.

Re: Copa America 2015
They should drop Falcao for Martinez and let James play behind because the current setup isn't getting the best out of their players. Pretty obvious now that Falcao not recovering for last year's WC was a big advantage for Colombia. He is giving them nothing and is increasingly looking like a new Torres. Pekerman has to grow some balls and make an unpopular choice.
Except for Bolivia vs Peru I will try to catch all the games and actually drop some comments because it is killing the forum as Antarion said, especially when you are passively reading here without contributing.

This can't possibly be true although I have seen it referenced other places. The only way it makes sense is that Pepe doesn't actually get that many cards but tends to do violent tackles and attacks which gives the impression that he is generally undisciplined. But that still doesn't explain how a defender would get the same amount of cards as an attacker in shorter time.Antarion wrote:[

Re: Copa America 2015
Wtf was that red card for Cavani. The biased Brazilian ref screwed the match. He clearly helped Chile during the whole match. That reminded me of Nishimura. Typical Conmebol stuff.
Good luck tomorrow, Puro! I hope you reach the semis!

Cavani's red was because he didn't want a rectal exam by Jara. I couldn't tell if Jara introduced three or two fingers to reach Cavani's prostate.
The entire continent is disgusted by the biased refereeing making sure Chile reach the Final and also by Jara's bizarre behavior so much so that the people want Perú to KO Chile.
Not so fast, mes amis! Bolivia will be game and the ref may dish out yellow cards left and right to Perú so that IF we reach the semifinal against the hosts, it will be without key players since they will be suspended.
Never underestimate the level of desperation of a nation that has not won a single trophy in 100 years. Uruguay was robbed tonight. Chile got a massive push into the semifinal by the ref.

If Suarez is going to be suspended for nibbling Chiellini then Jara is going to have to face a similar punishment. Wtf Jara!!!!! It was a nice goal from Isla to win it but still, Uruguay were definitely screwed.

Re: Copa America 2015
The second red for Uruguay was a straight red though, I must say for a Conmebol ref he held is cool pretty good. Allthough the 2nd yellow for Cavani was a disgrace. I mean Chile are already on the good site of the draw.
