I'd probably back Utd's mobility to outwit Milan
sounds very familiar to what Man utd fans were saying 2 years ago - i.e. Ronaldo and Rooney will give Maldini, Stam and all those other old defenders the runaround.

Germans don't do nonsense player to player comparisons in first place.
We know him better than you, we know what to expect from him better than you do. And we won't write him off at the age of 21, in his first season for a big club like Bayern, especially Bayern where youngsters rarely do well, no matter where they are from.

Yeah but this is a different Utd. AC are on the decline and with no strikers they will lose.

I don't know about Milan but I would say that Man Utd have progressed further as a team over the last two years since the two sides last met.
They are a much better defensive unit and are scoring goals at will again. When van Nistelrooy played in Milan he was still unfit after coming back form a long term injury.
Quinton Fortune's contribution.

19/20 is much different from 21/22. Milan were much better in defence then also. Ronaldo and maybe even rooney a lot smarter and more experienced now
True. I wonder how Milan would deal with Ronaldo in this match since Oddo and Jankulovski are both very attacking fullbacks. I supsect Ancelloti will put one of Gattuso or Ambrosini on him, and perhaps play a more defensive fullback in place of Oddo or Janku (maybe Bonera).

Liverpool - PSV's pretty boring. PSV just sitting back and passing amongst their back 4 before giving the ball to Feher who immediately loses it.
Pennant tearing him and PSV in general to shreds. At one point he beat 3 PSV defenders, then beat the first one again
Get Gonzo on after an hour and keep Pennant on and we should get a fair bit of joy in the last half hour.

The major difference last time was that Milan had a few chances and Crespo buried two of them. This time their strikers are hardly prolific. Maybe Inzaghi you'd expect to score if he had a couple of good chances, but he won't offer as much in general play. They'll need a big performance from Kaká and probably Seedorf too, who sounds like he's having a good game tonight.

I do believe Milan won while only playing Crespo upfront. Kaka hs also improved alot since then - he was pretty poor in 04/05. It will be closer i agree though, but dont forget how good Milan are in this competition.

You are the lot that keep hyping him to high heaven and that's the only reason I keep having a(n easy) go at him !
WTF do I care about Podolski ?
Now back to the match : knowing my luck I predict Podolski to score the 1-2

oddo instead of cafu.
Cafu does not start anymore and you'd be mad to drop Oddo given his current form this season.

Cafu's got more experience and is a better defender - can't cross like Oddo mind u.

man utd is a very pacy side but im not sure they would be able to use all of that against milan because they wont play like roma and are very very experienced. anyway speed is the way to go against milan as i remember when they met psv in the semis. but i dont think milan have strikers in good enough form to do it.if they had ronaldo then i would almost call them favourites for the cl but they dont and it means alot.

yes but where are your goals coming from seriously.
@stop.....
They didnt let in tons but they still struggled. United's defence in my opinion is much more rigid than Milan's.

he's ooooooooooold, from what ive seen of him at the beginning of the season, he looks well and truly past it. The injury he had last season hurt him.

Still I just don't see Pirlo, Maldini, Ambrosini, Seedorf etc being able to cope with the physical side of a motivated Man Utd side for a full 90 minutes.. 60 minutes maybe, but after that those continuous runs well start tireing the old legs..
