So we could have the future Brazil national team playing in the Premiership. Who would have thought that 5 years ago?

    GK

    Rafael . . . CB . . Alex* . . . Fabio

    Denilson . . Lucas

    RW . . . Anderson . . . LW

    Pato

*Not sure yet if Chelsea will sign Alex, but they are also linked to Daniel Alves.

Awful move if it true. Firstly, because Chelsea are hardly adept at developing talent. Secondly, and perhaps more importantly, he isn't ready for a move to Europe. He needs at least another season in Brazil.

He is but i am not sure Mourinho wants him, so he could stay on loan at PSV or be sold to another club. There is also the problem with the work permit i think but that could soon change.

Reliable source, not As and Marca BS. When Liverpool signed Lucas nobody here knew it.

He will play a full season before moving to Chelsea. Chelsea will not be good to him because he will face too much competition for a place in the starting XI, Arsenal or Milan would be better IMO.

Am I right in saying he's only played about 20 games for Inter? The move is too soon IMO, even if he does stay until January.

Apparently he wanted to go to Milan (plays as them on the Playstation, Ronaldo is his idol etc), but Milan said his asking price was too high. I agree that his opportunities at Chelsea will be extremly limited.

    Unfortunately yes, it is.

The smarter ones don't follow this trend though, and it's them who will dominate world football in future, the players who plan their careers carefully and understand that they need match practice foremost for their developement.

we must also understand that he might have interest in helping his family as much and as soon as he can. but yeah football wise it is a bad move since im not sure he will be allowed much freedom like he would in milan.

Poor kid probably comes from some impoverished family of street urchins and prostitutes, have some sympathy. If your whole family was in poverty and someone offered you the means to get all of them out of trouble you'd take it, or so I hope.

Silly move though - Chelsea's only real success story in terms of young players is Obi Mikel, who they signed for 16 million after a protracted legal battle, who got sent off on his debut, is at loggerheards with his national FA, has a history of storming off when he doesn't like what's happening but is potentially as good as Essien, who is one of the top handful of midfield players in the league, if not the best outright. So Chelsea have been patient and kept giving him chances to show his stuff on the pitch. Sadly they haven't applied the same courteous logic to other young players, though a lot of people would just say that Wright-Phillips isn't good enough, Huth isn't good enough etc. etc.

This is the same as what Gonzalo Higuaín did, signing for a big club in Europe the first chance he got, i don't think he played many games for River.

    Anyway...

    Pizarro is 28
    Drogba is 29
    Shevchenko is 30

Sheva might be back off to Italy soon and Drogba is already talking about testing him self in La Liga or Serie A in the future. Pizarro has been signed as a back up player.

I don't see a problem with this signing, apart from Chelsea's style of play at the moment.

    From:

The new wonder kids from Brazil
The twin brothers - Rafael and Fabio - are being tipped as replacements for Cafu and Roberto Carlos. Aged 16, the two brothers, who were part of Brazili’s U-17 squad to the South American championship in Ecuador early this year, play at the right back and left back positions respectively.

FIFA magazine revealed that the brothers who go by the full names Rafael and Fabio Pereira da Silva have caught the attention of Manchester United which has indicated interest to sign them when they turn 18 years but Fluminense are not in a hurry to let go.

Branco, Brazil’s 1994 World Cup winning team left back and now Fluminense’s technical director, admires the brothers and said this about them: “They’re both very good, play great football, are well prepared and are going to be a sensation.”

You're right. Until March he hadn't played a single match at Inter stadium as a pro.

It's easy to criticise him, but think about it. He will move to one of the biggest clubs in the world and will work under one of the best managers in the world. Also don't forget that Mourinho speaks portuguese...Do you know his signing on fee? 10 million US$. It's not easy to turn down offers like that.

He will have his chances. Chelsea have been fairly quiet in the transfer market this summer and they wouldn't spend a lot of money in someone that will not have first-team chances.

Hummm, no. It was the money from Chelsea, but also the Premiership appeal. You have no idea how increased the interest about the English Football here in Brazil, all of my friends are crazy about it. It just look so beautiful, those fancy stadiums, all completely full in almost every match, the organization, the security, all very modern and sophisticated. Gives to Caesar what belongs to Caesar, the Premiership is really becoming a fantastic League and is natural that young talents want to go there.

Also, he is not exactly from a starving family, from what i know he is from a middle class family, like Kaka.
