    Your Clubs B-Team 2008/09?

    Football is now a squad game. It is not enough just to have a good first XI, you also need good back-up players if you want to be successful, because of this i would like you to list your clubs B-Team starting XI.

    B-Team = players that would not get into your teams best starting XI.

    It will be interesting to see.....

    Which club has the most expensive B-Team.
    How many home-grown players are in the B-Team.

    Our starting XI for the Supercopa is looking like the following:

    -----------------------Casillas

    S. Ramos----Cannavaro-----Pepe----Heinze

    -----------------------Gago

    ------------v. d. Vaart--------Guti

    -------Raul-------v. Nistelrooy---------Robben

    So the "B" team would be

    -------------------Dudek

    Torres----J. Garcia-----Metzelder----Marcelo

    --------------------Diarra

    --------De la Red----------Sneijder

    ----Higuain--------Saviola-------------Robinho

    But it is hard to say. If Garay ends up staying with us instead of returning to Racing for a year, then he would take the place of Javi Garcia. Marcelo could be first choice over Heinze in certain situations, the same with Diarra for Gago. And when Sneijder returns from injury he might be ahead of Guti or VDV. Robinho and Robben are very interchangeable for Schuster. Really, there are some players certain to start (Casillas, Ramos, Cannavaro, Pepe, Raul, van Nistelrooy) but the rest are hard to define whether they are "A" or "B" team.

    ---------------Lastuvka-----------

    Ferdinand---Davenport---Collins---Thatcher

    Faubert---Mullins---Bowyer---Boa Morte

    -------------Cole---Sears-----------

    This is why we need to bring in two or three players before the end of the transfer window.

    Considering Mourinho's formation and recent experiments:

    Starting XI:
    Cesar
    Maicon - Cordoba - Samuel - Zanetti
    Vieira - Stankovic - Cambiasso
    Ibrahimovic - Adriano - Mancini

    Second XI
    Toldo
    Burdisso - Matrix - Chivu - Maxwell
    Muntari - Jimenez - Dacourt
    Figo - Crespo - Balotelli

    There isn't much difference in quality of the first and second teams, which is our key strength.

    Others: Orlandoni, Rivas, Bolzoni, Pele, Cruz, Suazo

    With Inter, its hard to separate A & B team... for example, it could easily be Chivu at LB, Zanetti in the midfield, and Vieira in the B team... but when fit, our best CB partnership last season was Samuel-Cordoba. And that kind of changes every season, with Players like Chivu, Materazzi, Rivas and Burdisso pushing for a place... perhaps this season we will have a different best CB partnership.

    I don't think a Xavi,Iniesta midfield will be a success especially against the top teams, so if i were Pep i would bench Xavi, but it won't happen.

    Well i cant see why Raul and Villa cant play together. it could work quite well allthough Villa and Ruud would prob compliment each other better but Raul is the king son so shall always start no matter what.

    I reckon:

    A team:
    Valdes
    Alves-Puyol-Milito-Abidal
    Toure
    Xavi-Iniesta
    Messi-Etoo-Silva*

    B team:
    Pinto
    Caceres-Pique-Marquez-Sylvinho
    Keita
    Hleb-Gudjohnsen
    Pedro-Bojan-Henry

    Interestingly we have 5 canteranos in the first team, but only 3 in the B team. And our B team is expensive too Yikes

    Pinto = 0.5m
    Caceres = 16m
    Pique = 5m
    Marquez = 6m
    Keita = 14m
    Hleb = 15m
    Gudjohnsen = 10m
    Henry =24m

    Yes but I think if Keita-Toure play, it'll still be with Xavi ahead of them and then Iniesta playing on either side of the attacking trident. Watch out for Xavi this coming season - he's entering the peak of his career, he's high on confidence after winning and being (one of) the best players at Euro 2008, and this new role of his closer to goal is looking promising so far. I think Guardiola knows exactly what he wants to do with Xavi in the team, and it could pay off big time.

    I think Xavi is just going to keep doing what he's always done. I think he always had to make backwards passes last year because there were too many lazy c*nts in Farza's team but now that Gordinho and Deco are gone and probably Henry isn't going to play much the team will be far less static Xavi will benefit from this.

    Well our defence is now certainly worse. Our midfield is of equal quality however and our reserve attack is the same.

    Non first teamers in our midfield now are: Vela, Walcott, Rosicky, Diaby, Song, Ramsey, Bischoff and Wilshere.

    Batman has bumped this thread because Liverpool's B-team has gone backwards meanwhile Manchester United's cost more than most teams first XI. He's also changed the question.
