    Great news!!!!

Why are we going to spend 25M EUR on Lucho when we have Diarra, Gago, Guti, Emerson.

    Doh x 100.

Instead we should first just give the 31M EUR and buy Robben, and use that 25M to buy Quaresma.

All this talk about Nasri and how he will be signed now. Erm i wouldn't mind if he's the real deal.

But the number of youth players that look like that will be in our squad is frightening! We need a good mixture of youth and experience, and we should flog the useless castilla players ASAP like Balboa, who we recently gave an extension Doh

As usual there is no effective planning by the board, going around buying any Tom, Dick and Harry. Instead of solving the problem areas of the squad: LB, RM, LM. Before luxury buys like Nasri.

so you think porto would sell us Quaresma for 25m euros? lol! lol!, they dicked us for a 25 yr old defender for 30 m euros who wasnt exactly a star, and you think they will sell us their best player (who's 23 by the way) for 25 million euros... You are on crack!

That's true, but then again Pedja and Calderon just threw money at Porto for Pepe once the Chivu deal fell through, because Schuster desperately wanted a CB for the beginning of the pre-season. If we had taken our time with negotiations, his price could have easily gone down to 20 million.

In Quaresma's case, I'm sure he would push for his transfer and rebel against Porto if we went for him. He already said he's ready to play in a big team numerous times. This could easily drive his price down. Quaresma certainly isn't worth more than 25 million, but I could live with it if we paid 30. We're desperate for a top class winger.

    I Agree.

You guys might know more than me, but please give me one good reason why Pedja is the Sport Director, and i don't consider having played for the club or having been a good player good enough reason for such an important post. I have no confidence in this guy.

Last season I wanted to give him the benefit of doubt to Mijativic. He didn't have much time to sign players and he persuaded Capello to quit Juve and got all our signings relatively quickly. He even got a great deal for Ruud Van Nistelrooy. Maybe we didn't make amazing signings, but based on the time he had I thought Mijatovic did reasonably well.

But now he has no excuse. He's had several months to work on transfers. It seems as if Mijatovic and Calderon only go for the hardest signings and only until it becomes painfully obvious we won't get them do they move on to the next. The club must start moving in for the backup singings BEFORE the other signings fall apart. This way it won't take so long if we have to switch transfer targets.

Look at the situation now. It seems that we are in ground zero with players like Lucho, Van Der Vaart, Nasri Quaresma, etc. So if we move on to them it will take a long time to sign them as well. With Pepe, it doesn't seem like Calderon and Mijatovic were already in advanced negotiations with him. It appears as if when the Chivu transfer failed, they just threw money at Porto to get a quick deal. Now we have the likes of Chelsea and Feyenoord holding us for ransom in other transfers.

Of course it wasn't on purpose, but the press loved it (apparently taking a million pictures). Kaká spent about 10 minutes talking to our board members before exiting to get on the right bus.

    lol!

I had a feeling something like this would happen. But I envisioned something like Cicinho and Robinho saying stuff to Kaka as the players shook hands. Funny nonetheless.

    lol!

Didn't anyone take a picture of this?

If they did then Milan better hope AS don't get their hands on it. They will have a big front page with the picture of Kaka getting into the bus and a headline along the lines of

    Very Happy

Here's the story we were waiting for. They didn't go as far as I thought they would though:

Cafú intervino: "¡Yo me he equivocado, tú no!

The parts that I put in bold are the ones that could easily be fabricated to add a little spice to the story. First they claim that after Kaka said that they were in the wrong bus, Cafu intervened and said "I am, you're not". Then they say that after a Madrid directive said goodbye to Kaka, he responded by saying "Not goodbye, but see you soon'".

I guess this could all be true since the players could have really just been making fun of the situation and Madrid's desperation to get him, but those two quotes still seem fishy to me. The kind of thing AS could easily make up.

Torrente will be glad to know..

Michael Salgado insists he's staying with Real Madrid.

The Spain fullback told Radio Marca: "I do not want to change clubs and my desire remains to retire here. I want to continue with Real Madrid.

"When [Fabio] Capello arrived everybody said I wouldn't be involved. However, I soon began playing as a starter. Only injury stopped that."

Check out what Calderon said in an interview:

Then maybe you shouldn't go around saying things like "We will get Kaka", "We need Robben", "I'm confident that we will seal the Robben and Drenthe transfer withing a few weeks" Doh

f@ck him. If Schuster has any brains he will push for his sale. We don't need him with Ramos and Cicinho as RB. Salgado is also the type of player that will start sulking if he remains on the bench. Down with the geriatrics ok

Javier Saviola went against instructions from Real Madrid to give an interview with the Catalan press yesterday.

DiarioSport says Real were reluctant for the former Barcelona striker to speak with the Catalan media, but the Argentina international told reporters: "Every player dreams of winning the title and I hope to do so at the end of this season.

"I hope to show my full ability with Real Madrid. "

On former club Barca, Saviola added: "I don't have problems with anyone at Barcelona. Not the football staff, nor the fans, nobody."
