I'd happily take Wallace. Don't think he's a bad player.

Re: Sunderland
How many of those players were signed by Keane, and how many have just been kicking about in the reserves for a few years?

Liam Miller
Ross Wallace
David Connolly
Ian Harte
Graham Kavanagh
Stanislav Varga
All of them bar the one's striked out.
I think most of the one's above are players he signed when in the Championship and most of them are Championship standard.

Re: Sunderland
Yeah, I'd agree most of them will have been fine in the Championship but aren't much use in the Premiership. I suspected he brought most of them in, but wasn't absolutely sure. I wasn't sure if it was a case of him clearing out players who had been there but who didn't suit his plans, or the ones who had fulfilled their role last year but weren't worth keeping now (plus a couple who just didn't work out).

Think Yorke is leaving on a free as well.

Re: Sunderland
But Ross Wallace had been performing well, Sheff. Some Celtic fans believe Keane didn't like his attitude.
Apparently he's quite a stickler for not tolerating players who don't approach their responsibilities with anything but dedication.

Good point. I haven't watched Sunderland too closely this season, but he has generally done well. I guess for some of them personality clashes and off-field activities will be the cause then, as you said earlier.
Was Keane boss when Liam Lawrence and the others got in trouble for shagging that teenage girl? I remember everyone involved got cleared out of the club rather quickly then.

Yeah. That Alnwick was out the door as soon as that story hit the press.
I heard something the other day about Yorke getting a new one year deal as well.

I’m not sure, but Keane would have beaten the $h!t out of these players if they did this.

Re: Sunderland
Yeah credit to Keane for not fucking about, although patience is sometimes needed. Ricky Dunne was a dick when he came to the club at 19yrs old. He went out drinking and causing trouble etc but was given a final warning and luckily got his hed down and the rest is histroy. If we had just sacked him off straight away we would have lost someone who has been our player of the year for the last 3 years.
Its clear Keane wants 100% commitment and a good attitude and there is nothing worng in that....he is still $h!t at signing players though. (i didnt want to praise him without a little dig at the wanker)

Re: Sunderland
From BBC's Quotes of the Week:
"If you are driving to work, don't get into a car with Liam Miller because he gets involved in more car crashes than anybody I know."
Roy Keane puts Liam Miller on the transfer list after getting fed-up with his excuses for turning up late to training.
Fantastic quote from Roy Keane there
