Don't expect anything for Arsenal either.Sheffield gunner wrote:jonathan de guzman wrote:25h 22mins left, 1h more in the UK. Still expect something for your club?
Nope. It makes a big contrast with all the excitement of the last day of the transfer window for Arsenal a year ago. It would have been nice to bring in another player though.

Re: Last-minute transfers
One big deal likely to go thru today - El Chino Recoba will finally leave Inter, and form a partnership with Rosina-Corini-Di Michele-Bjelanovic @ Torino!
Toro are starting to look dangerous.
Toro edge towards Recoba
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Torino are edging closer to signing Inter outcast Alvaro Recoba, but they face a race against time on deadline day. It is the final day of the summer transfer window and unsettled players all over the peninsula have their fingers crossed for an 11th hour switch. Recoba’s future is believed to be closely linked to the Nerazzurri’s Brazilian hitman Adriano, who has also found himself out of contention for a starting place.
Inter chief Massimo Moratti has indicated that he would be willing to let one of the pair leave, but not both.Having turned down a reported £10m switch to West Ham and the possibility of a loan spell, Adriano looks likely to stay at least until January, which opens the door for Recoba.“I have to say that the deal is not complete, but we are still talking with my friend Moratti and are very close to a resolution,” Torino President Urbano Cairo told Sky Sport Italia.
“We seem to be waiting for Adriano’s position to become completely clear and it seems that is close to happening. It’s best not to say anything yet as nothing has been signed.” The only thing that is certain at this stage is that everything will be decided before midnight on Friday.Meanwhile, Toro are set to officially announce the signing of Venezia striker Marco Moro. The talented youngster scored in the Lagunari's opening-day defeat against Cremonese, but may have to wait for a shot at Serie A as he is likely to be sent to Messina in a co-ownership agreement.

Luccin may now go to Zaragoza after they let Movilla leave.
btw, Deano, Gudjohnsen is training normally with the rest of the Barcelona squad, and has been doing so for a couple of days now...so either a move may still happen, or the medical reasons weren't why the move broke down.

Now that Inter let Recoba go, I doubt that Adriano is still possible.
Tho I still won't mind if he accepts a loan move to a team which is not playing in europe.

Re: Last-minute transfers
We are serious about challenging on all 3 fronts this season, I am sure Mancio/Moratti do not find 5 strikers a burden.
That said, I am happy with our top 4 and think they are adequate, so wouldn't mind if Adriano is let go of.

Re: Last-minute transfers
Interestingly, among all our strikers, Adriano is the only one with the talent to become Ibra's back up... with Recoba gone, only an in-form Adriano has the ability to go back for the ball and provide thru passes for the target man... so he will get his chances. But this time he will have to take his chances, he is not mainstay anymore.

He is a good player, but he doesn't score too many goals... if he is a back-up for Totti, then they have got it terribly wrong! If he is there as an alternative strategy of playing 4-4-2, then it might just work.

Interesting dvelopment, good man!
Livorno poach Bogdani off Roma!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Just hours after Roma agreed terms for a transfer, Erjon Bogdani has turned down a move, preferring Livorno! “I am looking for a side that will let me play regular first team football, but at Roma I would have only been on the bench,” said the Albanian striker. Chievo had already worked out all the details of his £2.7m transfer, but at the last moment Bogdani rejected the Giallorossi.
He had also been linked with Cagliari, Parma and Lazio over the last few days, but he has now officially finalised a switch to Livorno instead. The deal is a loan with an option to buy for a fixed price at the end of the season. Livorno were on the look-out for a big centre-forward to replace Cristiano Lucarelli – now at Champions League club Shakhtar Donetsk.
Francesco Tavano and Diego Tristan have both disappointed so far this season, so just before the transfer window closed they swooped for Bogdani.Livorno have also snapped up Messina midfielder Edgar Anthony Reyes Alvarez. Meanwhile, Chievo have officially parted with defender Lorenzo D’Anna after 13 years at the club. He has decided to continue his long career at Piacenza.
