A truly pathetic attempt at a joke. At least Fey's original (which you copied) was mildly amusing.

Re: Last-minute transfers
Thats the end of transfers this summer - no big signings or surprises on the last day!!
Transfers: Atalanta swipe pair
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Atalanta snapped up Argentine Maximiliano Pellegrino and Lazio’s Manuel Belleri as we round up the latest transfers. The Biancocelesti are going through an injury crisis, but still decided to part company with the versatile Belleri in a loan deal. Central defender Pellegrino is 1.89m tall and is very powerful in the air at both ends of the pitch. He had been close to Benfica in January and is 27 years old.
Torino have been very active on the final day of trading, as after snapping up Inter enigma Alvaro Recoba on loan, they have sold Gabriele Cioffi to Ascoli. Cioffi was a big signing last summer from Mantova, but the defender made only 18 Serie A appearances for the Granata, scoring one goal. Toro also parted company with 19-year-old Angelo Obinze Ogbonna, sending him out on loan to Serie C side Crotone. Parma took on Bernardo Corradi from Manchester City on loan and have also secured Helsingborgs midfielder McDonald Mariga.
The Kenyan makes the move to the Tardini on loan with an option to buy at the end of the campaign. In other transfer shorts. Catania have handed midfielder Mattia Biso to Serie B outfit Spezia on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season. Serie B club Avellino picked up Mario Antonio Jimenez Salgado from Foggia in a co-ownership deal. Genoa loaned goalkeeper Gianluca Pegolo to promotion hopefuls Mantova, where he joins Stefano Fiore.
The transfer market in Italy - at least when it comes to players coming in - closed at 17.00 UK time.

Re: Last-minute transfers
Why does it close so early in Italy?
Still surprised at the lack of news from Spain - Ezquerro, the Madrid youth team players, and a few other strong rumours were going around, but nothing has happened.

Re: Last-minute transfers
Obviously coz Inter like idiots had signed him on a long term contract, and he has been getting money for the past 4 years for not playing!! To be fair, a series of injuries killed his career... its hard to imagine that we had done a straight swap for Coco and Seedorf with Milan
There was talk about Inter mutually rescinding his contract, wonder what happened!

Watford sign River Plate's Aloi
Watford have completed the signing of River Plate midfielder Santiago Aloi on a one-year loan deal.
The Vicarage Road club will have the option to purchase the 20-year-old at the end of his temporary spell with the Championship outfit.
Aloi is from Cordoba, Argentina's greatest breeding ground for producing professional footballers.
He was spotted by two of Watford's scouts when they travelled to his homeland in May.
------------------------------------------------------
Anyone know this player ?
Gala did well to get Nonda (quite misunderstood) and I'm glad that Recoba will play regularly.

Re: Last-minute transfers
Chevanton's talks with Racing Santander and Benfica have broken down, and he will stay in Sevilla. But with them also signing Kone, it means there is no more room for non-EU players, so Chevanton will not even be registered with the squad!!!
So basically, he is only eligible for Ch. League games.

This has been a strange day! Just over an hour to go till the window closes in Spain and the rest of Europe, and still hardly any news!
Ezquerro, Riquelme, Dani Alves, surely all 3 of them can't be staying at their clubs? (though it looks likely that Dani Alves will).

Re: Last-minute transfers
De La Red has been sold to Getafe, with Madrid having a buyback option for the next 2 years. Looks like Madrid finally had to give in after nobody else came in, because they didn't want to do a deal with Getafe.
Wonder if they'll accept Milan's Baptista offer.

Price not mentioned. Maybe it's 10 million, since we all know how great Madrid are at selling their players. Now you can tell us all a 100 more times.

Re: Last-minute transfers
No, we haven't.
We signed German U21 international (fullback / defensive allrounder) Boenisch from Schalke today, but that's it. We paid too much also (~€3M).
Apparently, Allofs had talks with a lot of clubs, and really wanted to sign a striker in the last minute, but it simply didn't happen. Guess it's because of the highly inflated prices for strikers this summer.
Still, I'm disapoointed. We really could have done better, as explained in the Werder thread umpteen times already.

Re: Last-minute transfers
Nilmar won't move to Europe this summer.
He is not fully fit now anyway, and will need to train his muscles (serious knee ligament injury earlier this year) until November to get fully match fit.
We have tried to sign him, and may sign him in the winter. No transfer fee necessary, since he won the court case against Corinthians (he is no Corinthians player anymore de facto), but apparently, he demands some ridiculous hand money (€10M, which Napoli were not willing to pay understandably).
Can see us sign him in the winter, but we need a class striker now, for the CL in particular.
