Amazing to see something like 7 or 8 Celtic players in the box and only Inzaghi.. yet he manages to score!

Great striker, the best in the box. He can only do 1 thing, finsihing & he's good at it. Apart from that he's technically very poor. Heard Gullit (think it was him) once say that during training Inzaghi does not participate in rondo's (don't know what it's called in English, training exercise in which players stand in a circle with 1 or 2 in the middle, who have to win the ball, while the others pass it between them). He's just too Cr@p. Amazing!Oleguerisntthatbad wrote:Amazing to see something like 7 or 8 Celtic players in the box and only Inzaghi.. yet he manages to score!

Celtic are through thanks to results elsewhere. They have been dreadful tonight but they have Benfica to thank for their qualification.
A rather dull match in Milan tonight finishes Milan 1-0 Celtic.

Celtic were very poor tonight. Their strikerforce - Venegoor of Hesselink, McDonald, Zuraskei, Killen - are just not anywhere good enough to perform in the Champions League.
Celtic scored 5 goals in their group with only 1 coming from a striker. They conceded 6 goals too. Like last year, they are very fortunate to have progressed at all. If it wasn't for a set piece last year they wouldn't have qualified.
This tells you that they rely on set pieces, corners, penalties, and the odd scrappy goal to get through matches rather than having the ability to go out and win matches on skill and good performances alone. Aside from the match against Benfica at home last season.
Their problem is that they can't attract good strikers to Celtic Park although I felt they should have tried to sign Suarez and Cardoso previously. But again, they would find it difficult to get work permits for these guys...

Celtic are all hot air. They intimidate the opposition at home but are f useless away. They and Marseille will be the weakest teams in the last 16.

It's kinda sad that Celtic are threw while Sporting and Benfica are out.
Perhaps I'm biased, but I'd say these Portuguese clubs play better football than Celtic, and despite what people may say Benfica were the better side in the two matches against the Irish.

Nice to see Benfica finally taking some of the chances they have created in this competition, and congratulations to Cardozo on scoring Benfica's 500 european goal.
It was a very good performance, all things considered, after an extremely hard game against Porto only three days earlier, a gruelling journey to the Ukraine, and the temperatures as low as minus 10ºC.

Gosh I hope we get Celtic in the 2nd round. Or Rosenborg.
But I have a feeling Liverpool will qualify in 2nd and we'll draw them, while Milan or some other favourite for the title get lucky with all the easy teams in the draw.

Most certainly we think that the Uefa cup has importance, and I think both Sporting and Benfica will be fielding strong teams, to go as far as possable. Even more so with Porto running away with the league.
