Re: Rafa bites back at Alladyce
revenue is only half the equation, newcastle wage bill COULD well be way above that of valencia you have no idea and as such that additional income could be more than offset by the wage bill which is hardly a short term factor. Valencia are a financially strong club i believe more than can be said of newcastle until v recently.

Well done Rafa, Fat Sam is always running his mouth off when he has no need to. Alladyce should shut up and concentrate on his own side.

they really did not deserve a response. fat sam defeated himself the moment he opened his mouth

Re: Rafa bites back at Alladyce
Newcastle are paying off a long term loan for the stadium expansion. So a lot of the extra revenue goes on paying that.
How the hell do Newcastle make more money than Valencia anyway? They have a smaller stadium and no CL football. It makes no sense.

Surely you cant compare Valencia to Newcatsle, that's just ridiculous it would be like comparing Arsenal with Fiorentina

SKY TV
don't real and barca conduct their own Tv deals in spain anyhow
plus surely newcastle make far greater money on matchdays. Is newcastle's stadium smaller than the mestalla ???
Newcastle have always spent a fortune on players.. owen, shearer, martins, luque etc etc. they just have obviously not spent anywhere near as wisely as valencia

It's a crazy word, a newcastle team closer to relegation than a title when he took over. Compared to a Valencia team that was in champions league finals, and challenging for the title when rafa took over

Don't forget Bolton as well
Bolton was also a team in this comparison; a team that Sam dragged up from mid-championship mediocrity

I dont see how this is a debate, Fat Sam hasnt been given the opportunity to prove how good a manager he is, but with the chances he has been given, he has completely excelled.

Its the joy of having a debate with a Pool fan rez, you just don't know whats going to happen next and often its the thing you least expect.
You're right, its almost as laughable as the Arsenal=Fiorentina statement

Transfers which of course are not dynamic in any way, shape or form which can be easily compared. They also seemingly live in their own financial world where wages increase in relation to the increase in the amount spent on transfers.

I don't understand why Allardyce is going after Benitez anyway. He should be aiming for O'Neill, Curbishley, Hughes, Moyes, perhaps Jol.
But then again, I guess those would all be easy pickings for a guy like Big Sam

Re: Rafa bites back at Alladyce
Sam Allardyce has carried on his war of words with Rafa Benitez by telling the Liverpool manager that he can 'dish it out but he can't take it'.
Allardyce recently said that Benitez would be 'lucky' to still be in his job if he had not guided Liverpool to two UEFA Champions League finals, because The Reds had not performed well in the Premier League during his time at Anfield.
Benitez responded by saying that Allardyce must have forgotten a number of Liverpool's other successes, and also told the Newcastle manager to focus on his own team.
Allardyce accepts that Benitez had the right to reply, but feels he should have just let the matter lie.
"I can't remember exactly what the comments were, they were about two weeks ago," Allardyce told Sky Sports News.
"He's had a little bit of a chunter, but that's life. He can dish it out but he can't take it."

What the hell is he on about? Why the random attack on Benitez? What's he trying to prove?

this is all great stuff from sam
where before there was a slight chance benitez would have played a rotated team against newcastle... now he will get to face our strongest side
the randomness of this attack and the comments is astounding

actually now that I think about it rafa has always been a big fan of fat sam
Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez has launched a scathing attack on Premiership opponents Bolton before their game today saying that referees are too relaxed about their aggressive style of play.
Benitez thinks that Bolton would not get away with it in any other league in the world and thinks that there is a tacit acceptance of Bolton's approach that means it is not properly handled by referees.
He said: 'Bolton could not play this way in Spain. Every free-kick, corner and throw-in would be a foul, but here it's not. They know this and take advantage.
'It's up to the referee to say it's a foul because the rules are for everybody. Then maybe it's easier to play football.'
Bolton are two points ahead of Liverpool in the table and the Reds will be hoping to snatch third place from them by the end of the day.
Having won five of their last six Premiership games Benitez knows that it is vital to beat the sides around them in the table to achieve success.
I think we have the cause

Rafa can't win either way, the posters who criticise him on here do it out of jelousy though, with Mourinho now gone Rafa is probably the best manager in the league.
Wenger and Fergie are still class but Rafa will be the top dog for the forseeable future now, Fergie only has a couple more years in him

He needs to do be successful for a longer period of time to be considered better than Wenger and Taggart in my opnion, but he could well be in a few years.
