I was being kind of facetious by the way. Honestly, Roman is a huge supporter of the state of Israel--fact. It is not completely out of the realm of possibility that a man who hardly made his money transparently could, in theory, ask a country, who have no chance of progressing, to lie down. Berlusconi hardly made his money transparently, so I don't trust him either.

in that case why not if israel and andorra both beat russia, then england are through even if they lose to croatia, so no need to care at all about that game

many things are possible, but england's only realistic chance is a russia - israel draw, then they can think about croatia. If the russia-israel draw doesn't happen then they are out.

I don't see croatia losing to macedonia as realistic, even one draw in the last 2 games qualifies them.

@Kuyt, are you a bellend? I think so: if Israel hold Russia, and Croatia win their next game, they will be through, therefore the game at Wembley will mean nothing to them.

Besides, no one has said Croatia at home will be a walk over, however the Israel - russia game comes first, so taking each game as it comes.

Imo anything can happen in the FYROM v Croatia match. Will be hectic players could be sent off. Remember Holland drawing 2-2 there; recently they held Nigeria. It's just a 1 off match.

FYROM is no Liechtenstein most top nations only get small wins there; they're quite capable of causing an upset.

I think your brain might be too focussed on the Jews that it's not registering with you. If croatia get a draw with macedonia they will be 4 points ahead of england so they are through.

So england's only chance is if russia get a draw (or lose) to israel, then England stay 1 point (or 2) above them. Then they have to beat croatia to stay above russia who will hammer andorra.

France will only make Euro 2008 because of Scotland's long time history of bottling it at the last minute against the weaker teams such as Georgia.
