Arsenal Vs Man United
Come on people! surely the biggest game of the league so far, I think it will be a really open game for once, both teams are playing great football, a win would give either side the psychological boost.
I think United will win it, don't know why.

Re: Arsenal Vs Man United
I actually think this might be a good game as well. Both teams are on fire at the moment. There's likely to be a bit of fear from both teams though. If Utd lost they could be 6 points behind Arsenal if Arsenal were to win their game in hand. If Arsenal were to lose it would be a huge morale blow and would leave Arsenal level, or even behind Man Utd on points depending on their game in hand.
So it could go either way - a very defensive game that neither teams want to lose, or both teams could really go for it and we could have an epi. Lets hope for the latter The Liverpool - Arsenal game certainly was.

Re: Arsenal Vs Man United
It will probably be a boring game, decided by a mistake from the players or the ref. These big games are never that good and when two teams on form meet it's always a cagey affair. The game really needs an early goal for it to live up to the hype.
I also think a draw would be a good result for both clubs, which greatly reduces the chance of it being a good game.
Arsenal wont want to lose so they can maintain their position at the top of the league and their unbeaten run.
United will not want to lose as it will give Arsenal a huge morale boost and stretch their lead at the top further.
I think the game will end 1-1, with Rosicky scoring for Arsenal and Rooney scoring for united.
Which players do you think Arsenal will play and do you think Wenger will play with 2 forwards?

how come SKY are not showing this on the Super Sunday..
seems a bit of an anti climax...saturday noon..
I reckon Wenger is going to start with Walcott, especially if Evra remains injured...

Where have you been?
Evra should be fit, i prefer 4pm sunday also, it's usually the last game of the weekend, and the biggest game last makes sense, but i guess they didn't expect Arsenal to be doing so well.

Even if we hadn't been doing so well it would still have been a big game though. Agree it would have been better on Sunday, but aren't there CL games the following week? When the fixtures were scheduled they probably had in mind that one of the clubs could have been playing on the Tuesday.

it's been a while..
i've been working in Manchester for a year..
I reckon the game is going to be similar to the 4-2 at highbury a couple of seasons ago..(in terms of goal scored..not the controversy)

I can't stand these early kick-offs, we've had a couple already this season. They don't give you much time to go to the pub before the game, and the whole build-up and a lot of the atmosphere before a big game is lost as a result.

Re: Arsenal Vs Man United
Yeah forgot about the champions league games.
Doubt there will be to much aggro, i know cesc gets on with rooney and ronaldo. probably anderson is friendly with the brazillians, so it's all a bit to civil for my liking!
Howard Webb is the ref by the way, i think this is a great choice, only referee i rate.

Re: Arsenal Vs Man United
In terms of stats, its going to be the best defence (Man Utd) vs the best attack (Arsenal) in the Premiership.
With the the players Man Utd have missing, this is a must win game for Arsenal if they want to win the league.
I think SAF will probably set the team out to play on the counter attack.

Re: Arsenal Vs Man United
Following the departure of Vieira and Keane, this game has really lost all the verbal bile in it, though from what we saw last season, the quality was still there.
Anyways I have a feeling that it is going to be an anti-climax with respect to the quality as primary target of both teams would be to avoid losing.

It's annoying for me too...the game is at 8.45am on Saturday morning...I have to go to bed early on Friday, because trying to lay in bed and watch it never works since I just fall asleep again.
But I, like others, am expecting a tight, nervy match, with at least one refereeing controversy.

defo parky especially when they may well have wanted to play their v strongest team in both, as it is now they may both be able to get away with resting a few players in the ECL but they wouldn't have known that when this was arranged or wanted to run the risk either

Torres, Voronin, Crouch, Kuyt, Babel, Gerrard, Benayoun, Pennant, Kewell
IMO all of those qualify as "attacking" players...now for the question of whether they're good enough or not...Rafa obviously thought so, because he bought them for qualities he felt fit with the "style" of football he was trying to play.

Re: Arsenal Vs Man United
there's also the issue that even if they aren't top quality a good offensive manager could get more out of them, we keep getting told by the red noses how great ferrard is but its only seen in glimpses under rafa cos he doesn't know how best to deploy him. rafa is a brilliant manager in one off games that are winner takes all, where tight defence is paramount and look for the odd chance on the break he struggles with beating teams you should be beating with your eyes closed, eg b'ham at home

It's hardly ever good to watch. You can't deny in an attacking sense Rafa has completely failed at Liverpool.
