It's mind-numbingly bad so far. We're slow, our passing has been lazy and everything we do lacks sharpness. Reading have had a good effort and are starting to get into the game, although most of the match they were reluctant to leave their half. Wenger has got the tactics wrong today. It makes no sense playing Hleb as an attacking midfielder because there is no space for him to work. We really need van Persie back and a bit of urgency in our play. Playing at this pedestrian pace won't get us anywhere.

Funny how their reserves can beat 'anyone outside the top four' but their first team can't beat Reading. Or Liverpool. Or Man U. Or that Czech pub side.

Matty Flamini!!!
We don't deserve that, but a vital goal just before half time.

Were dominating the way Liverpool dominate . All the possession but doing nothing with it. Not even triangles.

Nicely worked goal, although fortunate that the ball ended up in the goal. I think it was always going to require a goal like that. Reading lost the ball softly and were caught out of position, and for once, we countered swiftly. We've had considerable difficultly breaking them down, and only with Adebayor's effort off the post did we find any space in behind their defence. Very lethagic performance so far, although Reading didn't create much themselves. Hopefully if they come out and attack in the second half we will have more space to exploit.

Hopefully we'll play with 2 strikers from now on. Eboue does nothing against weak teams who want to sit back. We need to change this now!!!!!Sheffield gunner wrote:Nicely worked goal, although fortunate that the ball ended up in the goal. I think it was always going to require a goal like that. Adebayor! Great goal, and I think Cesc got the assist. We've played superbly in the second half.

Adebayor has a goal ruled out for offside, very marginal decision. We've looked a different side in this second half, so much more energy.

Hleb with another. Adebayor should have two, his disallowed goal was definitely onside.
Fabregas picks up a yellow, which fortunately means he misses the Wigan match at the Emirates. Better to have him miss that game than the tougher away matches.

happens too often linesman being unable to judge correctly where the players were when the pass was played. They see an attacker a few meters clear and they stick up their flag.Sheffield gunner wrote:3-0

Happens everywhere. Makaay gets 2 wrong offside decisions against him every match (sunday v Ajax too). Just because he's too good at picking the right moment. Pity it's already damn difficult to score a goal, pity the offside rule's interpretation still benefits the defenders mainly.

Reading 1-3 Arsenal FT
Confident second half performance from Arsenal. We could have scored plenty more, but that was encouraging, much better than the first half display and we go back to the top of the table on goals scored.

Thought this was a game where we could have come unstuck as well, especially after our recent results. Its wigan at home next isn't it?
