Ooijer, Melchiot and Bouma are all Dutch internationals, they were getting regularly capped in our qualification series.
Between them they've gotten mentioned two times in all the defenders threads if I'm not mistaken
Van der Sar was more often not mentioned than being mentioned at all. When he was being mentioned (some United fan with a little sense of loyalty) it was somewhere after the *second* English keeper mentioned....on average that is.
The English conceded 7 in their qualifying campaign, the Dutch 5 (two in our final match for the cat's c**t, with Stekelenburg in goal).
The English have a proven goalkeeper problem, yet they apparently still have at least two better goalkeepers than Van der Sar.
All the English defenders are world class, even those who don't even make the national team. While the Dutch defenders (who are not world class, don't get me wrong) are not even mentioned.

In truth though, that's because they really aren't very good! Bouma has been outshone by Laurson this season and Ooijer can barely get a start for Blackburn behind Samba and Nelson.

The blackburn guy actually played in the last game i think though not at cb he played pretty well. But in general he's been poor.Malchiot was one of the reasons brum got relegated a few seasons back. Bouma looks ok when he plays, but hardly anything special. Boularuhz when he was here oh dear.........
